All three of our fur babies are now in their adult years, and not being as active as before, all have gotten overweight. We've tried changing up their diets the past few years by counting calories and having more wet food than dry, at our vet's recommendation but didn't see any real changes, even with having them on the Hill's "perfect weight" dry food. Our new vet recommended that we try the W/D multi-benefit food to help with their weight management and adult lifestyles overall, and we began transitioning them on to this last month by blending their old and new foods. With them already being on Hill's, they pretty much took right to it and we didn't have any issues with stomach upset and turning down the new W/D food, and they are now on it 100% for their dry food. Unfortunately, we can't find the wet version in stock anywhere and haven't been able to try it yet. We have noticed that along with liking the flavor, they seem more satisfied and aren't eating as often during the day so that we're hoping this will help bring their weights down.
The food is fine. It was prescribed the vet so there isn’t much to say. More what I was impressed about was how quickly Chewy processed the Vets prescription and got it added to my account. Excellent service for an online shop.
This food has worked wonders for our cat since we changed to it a month ago. Our vet first put our cat on Hill's weight control food 10 years ago then switched her to urinary control when she developed recurring UTI's 7 years ago, then switched her to Glucose Control when she developed diabetes 3 years ago. Since then she also developed constant diarrhea two months ago. We switched her to the Mult-Benefit food a month ago and while she loves the new food, she is only half as much (hopefully due to the high viber content) and she has lost weight and gained energy. While she still has her diarrhea issue, she now "goes" regularly every two or three bowel movements. It's too early to tell how, or if, it is helping with her diabetes and UTI issues but losing weight can only help with her diabetes issue.
My 6 year old shorthair was dealing with chronic gland impactions due to being slightly overweight, so my vet prescribed her this food to up her fiber intake and lower her calorie intake. So far there has been a HUGE improvement, no more gland impactions and she’s down a whole 2lbs! Her coat is also super shiny and healthy, and she goes crazy for this food. Definitely keeping her on it for the long run!
I'm always amazed with the fast shipping from Chewy. I ordered this food yesterday morning and it was delivered to me by noon today, on a Saturday! And since it's prescription food, they even had to contact my vet for approval. I have a 16 year old diabetic cat. He's been on this food for about 4 years, since we found out He's also on a medication from the pharmacy. I think that and getting him this special food has kept us from having to transition to insulin shots, which I'm hoping and praying we never have to do. I had a diabetic dachshund that was on insulin shots for 5 years, before he finally succumbed to that horrible disease. By the way, he really seems to like it. He lets me know if he can see a quarter sized spot in the bottom of his bowl. I do recommend this for anyone needing to feed specialized food for their beloved pet. It's pricey, but lasts quite awhile and so worth it for my little buddy Snickers health.
Our cat has been diagnosed with diabetes and our vet suggested this food. He is given his daily allowance and he loves it!
Loves his w/d dry food. Hope it helps him drop a few pounds. He is a big boy!
This was great, they were able to get the prescription from my vet, and boom, the food showed up. Very easy, and order was correct
No issues with bladder stones since the Vet prescribed this.
The cat eats it but doesn't really satisfy her. Hope to see less of her in the new year.
