This was recommended by my vet, when I mentioned I thought I had seen my senior girl limping on occasion. I started giving it to her every day.....has it helped with her joints? I don't really know for sure...but I can say she loves the powder.....I sometimes have a hard time getting her to eat....and sprinkling this on her wet food gets her interested in eating some of it. That alone is worth 4 stars...and it MAY be helping her joints as well....why not 5 stars? Well...it is rather expensive......but...I still think it's worth it. If it helps keep her from feeling pain when walking that's great...and if it gets her to eat a little more, that's even better.
Been giving this to my 12/13 year old cat for about 5 months now and have noticed amazing differences. She’s less hesitant to jump on the cat tree and is able to groom herself better, she gets daily zoomies whereas before she would only get them every so often, she’s even begun to play with toys again. Only problem is that now she’s able to jump onto the food container to try and open it. :)
My 12 year old cat is having trouble with his joints so I decided to try this. I open the capsule and put in food. The problem is he doesn't always finish all of his food so I'm not sure he ate all of the powder from his pill. After a week of giving it to him twice a day i do not see a difference. I would not try buy this again.
My senior kitty really struggles with arthritis. She is prescribed medication outside of Glucosamine but the added Glucosamine really helps her be more mobile. I've noticed her have more energy, move around more, and she seems a lot less in pain. It's a slow build up at first and the effects are subtle but I definitely do see her quality of life seems better.
My vet recommended these for my 17 year old cat with arthritis. Since I’ve been giving him these pills (usually mixed in with some wet food), I’ve noticed improvement in his mobility. He jumps, climbs and runs around more now than I’ve seen him do in years. These also seem very affordable given the benefits.
My cat just won't swallow a capsule so I tried opening the capsule and sprinkling it on her food. That doesn't work either because she is 17 years old and easly gets an upset stomach. Up comes her food!
I was opening the capsules and mixing in my 17.5 year old kitties wet cat food but I had to stop as it seemed he would vomit shortly after eating it with the capsule mixed in. :( I had high hopes for this for his joints since I had to stop the Solensia shots he’s been getting. I am trialing not doing those as it seems to be causing him anemia. Not sure what else to try for my old fella. The Cosequin probably works great, just didn’t work well for my cat.
I have a 12-year-old calico, who has been slowing down over the last few years just recently. She doesn't play with toys no more, she sleeps all the time she eats and she throws up all the time cuz she eats so much, even using a elevated bowl now she's afraid we're not going to put more food down because there's also three other cats in the house LOL. But everyday at least once a day, I scoop them a 8oz. Scoop of dry cat food. I add one to two full capsules of Cosequin (1 Cosequin per 8oz. Once sprinkled on top in the mornings and if I need to add more food during the day Ill just put food down without the Cosequin, I don't want to over do the good stuff) but in a matter of 2 days, I was able to play with my calico again. Its not for long which is understandable, but she's moving so much more now in just a little bit of time!! She follows me a lot faster than she could before. It will take her a few minutes to get up the steps because of her taking a break in between from arthritis pain. But now she immediately can follow me and she doesn't seem like she's hurting when she walks or her legs don't give out as she's walking. She see her getting up alot easier and no hesitation like before it was she was preparing herself to deal with the pain as she moves. I been feeling so terrible to see her like that. And I'm skeptical buying animal supplements/medicines online. And yes I was skeptical of this also, but after reading multiple reviews from different pet websites I gave it a chance and I'm glad I did!! To see such a huge change in such little time ITS AMAZING!! and super easy to use, 1 pill pulled apart and sprinkled over the food, how easy is that? And it doesn't sink to the bottom of the bowl, it actually sticks to the food where it's sprinkled. So now all my cats can benefit for their health. This product is so amazing!!! I can't tell you enough how happy I decided to let go of the skepticaliam and caved im to buy the Cosequin. I will definitely keep ordering 3 bottles every 3 months so they get it daily!!
I adopted a senior cat (16) who has a really bad rear stifle joints. It looks so painful to me that I actually hurt watching her walk. My vet recommended this so I looked here and read the reviews. I thought it was like a gimmick or something but I figured it is worth a try. She has only been taking it a couple of weeks so I'm not really sure if I can give it a fair review yet, but some of the negative reviews couldn't get their cats to eat their food when added to it. Fortunately, I'm not having that problem, so we are off to a great start. Now about two weeks in, she still has a obvious limp (she always will) but I swear it looks better and she doesn't "seem" to be in as much discomfort. Maybe it's my imagination or wishful thinking, but as long as she'll take it, I'll give it to her. I'll update you later in a few more weeks.
We got Stormy from the pound and they neutered him to young and snapped his hip. So when he was 1 we had to remove his hip. And the cosequin has helped him stay on his feet. It also helped him with his crystals in pee. With chewy I never have to worry about running out. I love chewy. Because he’s on special food also. And I never have to worry about running out and delivery is so quick. Chewy has been a blessing for us and Stomy. Stormy says MEOW
