Transition Instructions
When first introducing your pet to Nulo, we recommend slowly transitioning over the course of 5 to 7 days to reduce the risk of digestive upset that can occur with a rapid change in diet. We recommend portioning 25% of the new food on the first day mixed with 75% of the former food. Over the course of several days, gradually increase this ratio until you are feeding 100% of the new food. This will allow your pet's digestive system time to adjust to any new ingredients and will help to ensure a smooth transition. Mixing up proteins can be a great way to provide variety to your pet's diet. Once your pet has transitioned to the Nulo platform, rotating between recipes is generally seamless!

Is this puppy food good for large breed puppies?
Answer by • Jan 04, 2021
This variety is formulated to meet the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages, including growth of large size dogs (70 pounds or more as an adult).
I love Nulo. They have great products. But my puppy developed bad diarrhea from the puppy food. Had to stop using it. This may not be the case for all dogs. My dog is lab/husky mix and I know huskies can have sensitive stomachs. If you have a puppy, definitely try this food. There are so many benefits. It just didn’t fit the need of my pup.

Different from version purchased in-store
We have been buying this food in the 3 lb bag from a local pet store and really liked it so we decided to buy the 25 lb bag from Chewy. The packaging is identical to what we purchased in the store, but the kibble pieces are much bigger. It does not appear to be the same food; which is a problem because we have a small breed puppy with tiny teeth. Not sure what we are going to do with this food now.

We love it! German Shepherd approved!
Our German shepherd puppy loves this food, and it’s so much healthier than other dog foods even the pricier ones.

Nulo puppy not a front runner
I scrutinize ingredients in what I give my dogs. Nulo looks good & has good ratings but, it doesn’t have an aroma that says yum. My dog will eat it but she’s not that enthusiastic. The hunt continues.

Sounded Promising, the Aftermath not so Much
We were trying to switch from Blue Buffalo to a better food, and as we read the ingredients it sounded like great food. Bland, but still protein and good for dogs, and not grain free. We had to transition from our old food, so they didn't get a full serving at the beginning. The first day we did a total Nulo serving with just a slight bit of can, both dogs we have had terrible, smelly gas; and then watery, runny diarrhea almost every 2 hours. We already had to switch after one day of a total Nulo diet because the dogs were miserable. They also drank way to much water, almost 2 bowls full.

Best puppy food!!
My Lab puppy absolutely love this!! She was on Nulo large breed until the vet told me to take her off the LB, so we switched to this. Her coat is shiny, energy is great, healthy poops, vet said she is super healthy. I would 100% recommend this food to everyone!

Better food, better price, better taste (makes gravy), and happy, active CORGI
The fashion of no-grains seems to be a unsupportable claim.
After talking to a number of Veterinarians, they agree the "grains" in many foods are fillers, and that may have a issue with heart issues. Given the huge growth in new puppies and the COVIN era, there needs to be truth in promotion and medical (DVM) opinions, I chose for my Emotional Support Animal - NULO, and my puppy, now likes meal times, and her strength and play, I'm a new puppy father. When I was very young, HILL HORSE MEAT was our choice for our hunting dogs.
