For Pregnant Or Nursing Dogs: Nulo FreeStyle™ Salmon & Peas Recipe Puppy Food provides extra nutrition needed by pregnant or nursing dogs. When pregnant, feed up to 50% more food according to body weight displayed in the 7 - 12 mos. column. For nursing dogs, allow her to eat at will. Please also consult with your veterinarian.
Every puppy is a little different, so the ideal feeding amount may vary with age, size and activity level. Please use the information below as a starting guideline only and adjust as required. Ask your veterinarian if you’re unsure. Always provide plenty of clean, fresh water and hugs.
Transition Instructions
When first introducing your pet to Nulo, we recommend slowly transitioning over the course of 5 to 7 days to reduce the risk of digestive upset that can occur with a rapid change in diet. We recommend portioning 25% of the new food on the first day mixed with 75% of the former food. Over the course of several days, gradually increase this ratio until you are feeding 100% of the new food. This will allow your pet's digestive system time to adjust to any new ingredients and will help to ensure a smooth transition. Mixing up proteins can be a great way to provide variety to your pet's diet. Once your pet has transitioned to the Nulo platform, rotating between recipes is generally seamless!
These protein-rich diets have proteins from animal sources as the first 3-4 ingredients. Low-carb and low-glycemic ingredients provide stable energy levels, while the proprietary GanedenBC30 probiotic aids digestive and immune health. Plus, they’re made without pea protein, white potatoes, corn, tapioca, wheat or soy.
Raising the Bar on What’s in Their Bowl
From their careful selection of ingredients—like protein-rich turkey, lamb, salmon, chicken, beef and duck—to low-glycemic carb source choices like lentils, chickpeas, barley, oat, millet and sweet potatoes, Nulo approaches pet food the way they approach everything—no shortcuts allowed.
(Nu)trition + (Lo)ve
Nutrition and love are at the core of everything Nulo does. That is why they only use the finest ingredients to craft their high-meat, low-carb recipes. So go ahead and show your pet some love with the wholesome nutrition of Nulo foods.
Healthier Together
Since day one, Nulo has been committed to inspiring pet parents to live healthier together with their pets. That starts with nutrition—animal-based proteins for muscle, low carbs for a healthy weight, and probiotics for immune support are just a few of the ways each recipe provides your pet with a healthy start at every meal. So whatever the day brings, from a big stretch to endless fetch, your best friend will be ready!

At what age should you switch from puppy food to adult?
Answer by • Oct 12, 2019
It's recommended to switch to an adult dog food when your puppy is anywhere from 18 to 24 months old. Large or giant breed puppies take a little longer to reach maturity, and many of them are still growing until they turn two years old.
Is the salmon wild caught? Is everything sources in USA?
Answer by • Jan 27, 2021
This variety uses wild caught salmon. Nulo's meat, poultry, and fish are sourced from North America, with the exception of some of their duck (France), lamb (Australia & New Zealand), and wild-caught fish (regions can vary based on the migratory path of the wild population). Their fruits, vegetables, vitamins, and minerals are sourced in North America as well as regions throughout the world, but are always traced and required to meet strict safety and quality standards. None of Nulo’s ingredients are sourced from China, with the exception of select vitamin supplements that can only be sourced from there.

Puppy lost that spark
I have a 6 month French Bulldog and when I got him the breeder was feeding him Royal Canin and I continued to do so, but after some research I decided to switch up his food and decided to go with Nulo because of their good ingredient list. I did the whole food transitioning and he went thru the whole Nulo bag within a week or so with no problem. He's always been food driven and always energetic around feeding time but lately it seems like he's lost that spark. Now when I place his food bowl down, he takes a sniff of it and walks away.

good stuff but…
I bought this food because I really liked the ingredients and I wanted to give my puppy the best but unfortunately I don’t think he likes it. He doesn’t seem to be a picky eater so I don’t know what’s up with him not liking this food but when I put it down for him he smells it and turns around and leaves, he’s not interested in it. Also he vomits occasionally. Don’t know if the food has annoying to do with it, it might not but I think I’ll be trying something else soon. Anything to make him happy. :)

Puppy Loves His Food!
This is our first experience with Nulo brand food and so far it's been excellent. Our 4+ month old mastiff mix boy absolutely loves his food. He's eating it at fast as we'll feed it to him and it's coming out the other end just fine. He's also growing like a weed. I don't know how much the Nulo food has to do with that, but he's happy!

my Yorkie's love it
One of our Yorkie's had loose stool for a month and a half but the vet said nothing was wrong him. He suggested that we try a different food. They both love the flavor of Nulo and we've had no more loose stools.

Great food
I have a pregnant Frenchie and as soon as I switched her over to this food she was in heaven. Always eats all of her food and you can tell she enjoys the taste.

Puppy loves it!
We just got a new puppy and this is the food the breeder gave us a little of but not much. Our puppy loves it, and she’s got a ton of energy. The only negative - the site said 1-3 day shipping but it took over 1.5 weeks to get here. I was lucky I found a bag at a store that was 25 miles away for the mean time, otherwise no food or we would have had to switch.

Great for Skin & Coat
My almost 8 month old pitbull puppy has a chicken allergy which other brands with puppy specific formulas are often chicken based. She was previously on Nature's Logic salmon but that does not have a puppy specific formula (which vet recommended she stay on until a year old) and also dried her stool up to the point it was hard for her to pass. Nulo keeps her regular and her coat is super soft and shiny, which so much less itching. While the price is higher than other brands, I feel its worth it for how good she seems to be doing. My biggest gripe is the smell, definitely smells like fish food and also make her breath smell that way, so if your doggo doesn't have allergies - I'd go with another flavor.
