Why is the dosage double for the first 4 to 6 weeks?

I have read that Avacados were bad for dogs to eat. This product shows to have acacado listed as a ingredient.

Answer by ChewyFeb 16, 2019
Parts of the avocado plant—namely, the leaves and bark—can be toxic to dogs. Additionally, the seed of the fruit can be a dangerous choking hazard. Otherwise, avocado can be beneficial since they are rich in folate, potassium, niacin, and essential fatty acids.

My dog is 5 lbs. Should she take half a tablet every other day or just a whole one?

Answer by ChewyNov 14, 2020
For dogs under 10 pounds, the chewable tablets are recommended instead. You can find them by looking up "Nutramax Dasuquin with MSM Joint Health Small/Medium Dog Supplement" on our website. It's recommended to do half a tablet a day for all dogs under 10 pounds. I have included a picture of the item below for your review.

I became an owner to a 12 y.o. Toy Yorkie less than a year ago; I had been taking care of while her human-mom was in the hospital, but unfortunately her mom passed away. It was suggested by the vet to have her take a joint supplement, so I tried Nutramax Dasuquin. I know it's a well known supplement and probably very good, but my little Yorkie doesn't like them. I have tried many ways to hide a little piece of the Dasuquin soft chew in her food, cheese, pill-pocket, and ice cream, but each time, she finds it and spits it out.

This product is amazing. Our dog is 8 and was limping around due to arthritis in her knee. She started this and fish oil and she is no longer limping. She doesn’t jump anymore and has a hard time getting up after laying down for long perods of time but to see her walking and even running some is great.

My 10-year-old Shepherd/Hound/Retriever Mix adored being in her new play yard until she started exhibiting signs of stiffness. A couple of dog owners advised me to try Dasuquin. What a difference that made! Now she gets up and down with ease and can defend her territory against invading squirrels!!

I have a 14 year old female Brittany with arthritis and joint pain. I started her on this a couple of years ago, I stopped for a couple of weeks and she was not moving well. Once she started back there was a major improvement and I'll never stop using them. I was skeptical at first, and now I have two relatives and a friend who I suggested the product to and they now swear by it. If I didn't see the noticeable improvements with my own eyes I would remain doubtful. Now 4 dogs are doing so much better, this stuff is awesome.

When I did stop (to see if this was affecting her liver), my 12 year old went into so much pain. She was screaming every time she sat down. The vet did an emergency visit for us and did many things to help the pain in her spine, hips and back knee (acupuncture, red light, Winpro, pain meds, etc.). If I wound not have stopped, she would not have gone into so much pain. This makes a HUGE difference in her mobility! I had no idea! It's a staple for us.

My corgi would not eat this. I crumbled in with his food and first increase in noxious gas, next came explosive diarrhea with blood. Stopped the supplement and even days later his GI is still recovering and started throwing up. Taking him to the vet. This product and the other Nutramx Cosequin should be withdrawn! Do not buy for your beloved dog!

I was giving him a different brand but thought I would try these, as his previous owner had left me a bag of these that she gave him occasionally.. He only weighs 6 lbs and item is quite large. The other issue is that he does not like them. I have tried with peanut butter or breaking up in his food. He will not eat and pick around it. So, I probably will not continue with this brand after, if I can get him to consume this other package.

I Really Think It Helps
