Can I give this to my 2 year old very active chocolate lab for preventative measures?
Answer by ChewyMay 16, 2018
These soft chews are an excellent preventative measure, since they help block enzymes in joints that break down cartilage, and also support reparation and regeneration of new cartilage.

My dog is 5 lbs. Should she take half a tablet every other day or just a whole one?
Answer by ChewyNov 14, 2020
For dogs under 10 pounds, the chewable tablets are recommended instead. You can find them by looking up "Nutramax Dasuquin with MSM Joint Health Small/Medium Dog Supplement" on our website. It's recommended to do half a tablet a day for all dogs under 10 pounds. I have included a picture of the item below for your review.

I have read that Avacados were bad for dogs to eat. This product shows to have acacado listed as a ingredient.
Answer by ChewyFeb 16, 2019
Parts of the avocado plant—namely, the leaves and bark—can be toxic to dogs. Additionally, the seed of the fruit can be a dangerous choking hazard. Otherwise, avocado can be beneficial since they are rich in folate, potassium, niacin, and essential fatty acids.

What is the difference between Dasuquin and Dasuquin with MSM?
Answer by ChewyDec 18, 2020
Dasuquin with MSM is a comprehensive joint health supplement for dogs. It has the same ingredients as Dasuquin, but with the addition of MSM (Methyl-sulfonyl-methane). MSM is a naturally-occurring form of sulfur compound that is produced by ocean planktons. One of the most important functions of MSM is its effectiveness to relieve pain and inflammation.

Great product; wish it came in smaller size

This product, which was recommended by a vet, seems to have helped our Dachshund Chihuahua mix who has a luxating patella. He is skipping less on that leg and not kicking it out nearly as often. While I think the product itself is great, I really would like to see a package with fewer chews in it to maintain freshness. The recommended daily dose for small dogs after the initial period is 1 every other day. We are giving it to our dog every day now and the chews are already getting dry with about 1/3 of the bag left. 84 chews at 1 every other day is 168 days - there is no way they will stay fresh for that amount of time in their packaging. I'll continue to use the product but will have to figure out another storage method.

Happy happy dog

My vet recommended this product for my older dog. I gotta say he was also put on a pain tablet and a better diet, he's a foodie and i was over feeding him, but between the two items and a better diet after about 2 month of these meds also some weightloss my best friend is running and playing like he's 5 yrs younger. He's a min Pin mix weights about 29 lbs and is still losing weight. He jumps up in my chair with me where before I had to help him up. I'm so happy for him.

Helped my dog walk again

My dog tore her ccl. She couldn't walk. I had to carry her everywhere. The cost of surgery was way beyond my means. Her vet recommended this along with green lipped mussel and a few other supplements. She also encouraged light exercise. That was about 6 months ago. Today, my Kali is able to do steps and take full walks. I still have to be careful she doesn't overdo it. Yes, I 100% recommend Dasuquin. It was a major component of my pupper's recovery

Dasuquin supplements

I have a 11 lb miniature poodle & Jack russell Terrier mix who can be very active and jumpy. She was tweeting her back, our Vet recommended we start giving her daily joint supplements to strengthen her muscles. She loves the treat and is staying healthy.

Keeps on going

My 12 year old arthritic dog had a hard time getting up in the evening and couldn’t jump on the sofa and groaned a lot. Heck he was grumpy as heck and snapped at the other dogs. Now he gets up with little effort, no groaning and is willing to play in the morning . This is a night as day difference. It is given with salmon oil 400 mg on his food . I wish it was cheaper .

Great Stuff!

Our 11 year old pug Olive tore her CCL in what the vet thinks is both back legs. Because she is small and has had heart issues, they want to treat her with medication and not surgery. They recommended Dasoquin along with her prescription meds for general joint health and maintenance. Within 4 days (FOUR DAYS!) of beginning the Dasuquin, she is trotting around with no pain and no limping what so ever, playing, and acting like she is 3 again. The paid meds help also, but there was a huge improvement after adding this to her food once a day. Would highly recommend!

Seems To Be Working

She won’t eat them like a snack but she’s coming off 3 weeks of medicine for a hock problem. So I have to crumble it up and put it on her food. Add a little water and it apparently tastes like gravy. Anyways, she’s eating all of her food and walking much better. So we’re going to keep going down this path.

Not happy!!

This last bag I received of Dasuquin was old and nasty looking. My dog will hardly take it. The first bag was fine but very disappointed with last shipment.

Didn’t work for my dog

We used the chews for several weeks and noticed they were making our dog incontinent. She was urinating and defecating everywhere in the home. As soon as we stopped using the chews, she stopped doing that. Odd side effects and only used a couple chews.
