Great option for strengthening the skin barrier. My 16 year old pup with skin allergies and hyperthyroidism started taking this to repair lost hair spots and itchy dry skin. I thought it was gimick'y but I was proved wrong, her coat did a complete turnaround, all missing hair spots have regrown fully and her coat is super soft and no longer itchy. Also has therapeutic amount of omegas so good for our senior pups cognitive as well. We also used DermAlly oatmeal spray in addition to this and I highly recommend both products, esp if skin is need of repair.

My 5 year old GSD has allergies that so far have resisted the typical medications. She started the Dermaquin about 10 days ago. Instructions are 2 pieces a day for 6 weeks and then one piece every other day. At this point her constant licking and scratching has reduced to frequent. I am hopefull that this product may finally give her the relief she needs.

My dog has severe skin allergies and is on prescription medication, so when I learned about this product, I decided to try it. I know that supplements from NUTRAMAX are outstanding, so I felt confident in giving them a try. And it's been about a week, but they do seem to be helping (less licking of his paws, etc). In fact, just today I cut his prescription medication in half. Between the cold weather and the Dermaquin, I'm hopeful he will do better--or at least as well as with the full dose of the prescription medication.

My dogs are absolutely obsessed with Nutramax Dermaquin skin support chews. They think they’re getting a treat, which makes it so easy to give them. One of my dogs has skin issues and sometimes gets bald patches, but I’ve already noticed the fur growing back faster than usual since starting these. I’m hopeful it might even stop the problem altogether, but only time will tell. Either way, I’ll definitely be buying more because they go crazy the second they see the bag.

You don’t see reduce in lesions (it’s not a medication) BUT noticed skin to be more stable and less new lesions. My dog did environmental allergies panel and is allergic to all grasses, some pollen but most importantly dust mites and storage mites. It’s hard to completely avoid exposure to allergen especially dust mites. My vet recommended taking this supplement in addition to immunotherapy. This supplement helps strengthen skin barriers and protects against allergens.

I have an 11.5 yr old Golden Retriever who has issues with leaf mold spores. If she's going to be on trails covered in leaves, I plan on rinsing her feet when we get home. She deals with some skin itchiness despite food trials and removing food triggers (chicken is a big one for her.) She also has had chronic pancreatitis for the past 3 years and is on a low fat food. I was very interested in this product because I was not aware of the research on palmitoylethenolamide (PEA - not from peas!), or the use of hardy kiwi extract (not the same as regular kiwi we eat) and how they can benefit dogs. I use specific supplements to help support her medications. Helping to reduce inflammation is a big deal for any senior dog. I was surprised I saw any improvement at all in just the 2 weeks she's been on it. Normally a full month or more is needed for most supplements. Biggest bonus, no issues with her pancreatitis. I even let my 9 mo old Golden have a half a one, mostly as a taste tester, and she also had no GI impact. Your mileage may vary. On to taste: my senior Golden eats everything. She swallows these whole. She does drool when I pull out the bag, which is not normal for her. I break them in half since she just swallow it. The texture described as chewy is an understatement. They sort of have an eraser like texture. It's why my 9 mo old Golden offered her services as a taste tester. She will spit things out and consider if I'm trying to posion her or not. I was very surprised that she was all over this. It took her a little while to chew the half she was given, but she loves these things. Now she's a pest when my senior is dosed. I wish I had been aware of PEA (not peas!) and Hardy Kiwi before now. My senior would have been on it. Beta-glucans are important, and these 2 isolated out specifically is unique. I plan on keeping my senior on this for skin benefits as well as other reasons.

My dog was a bit iffy on the taste or smell of these and kept picking the first one up and dropping it. He eventually did eat it and asked for another. So far he seems to like them. Too early to tell if there are any benefits. One thing I’m not pleased with, the packaging says soft chew and these are not the least bit soft. So if you have an older dog who’s teeth bother them you might want to pass on these.

*Nutramax products are highly recommended - my Em has skin issues and when I saw Dermaquin offered I jumped at the chance for Em to have some relief from her very itchy skin - she’s only been on it a few days so it’s a bit early to see how it’s working - the ingredients in this product are good so I anticipate she will benefit from it.
