To be used with a behavioral training program

    By on

I've read some reviews & disappointed that people think this is some magic potion that will immediately solve their dog problems. My holistic vet recommended this & I've had my dog on it for about a little over a week. She said it will take 6 months for it to really have some longer term effects. Aside from that, I do training with my dog daily for 30 mins. She is a rescue and extremely fearful. Have I seen improvement? Most definitely - but the Solliquin only calms her anxiety enough so I can be more effective with MY training. It's some instant solution. Dogs take time and patience to help work through behavioral issues. There's no magic pill for them - we have to do the work, also! I only give 4 stars as I haven't seen the long term effects of this, but so far, I am pleased with it. Her car rides have been less manic , and I notice that noises outside affect her less. I live in NYC and there are constant noises, and I notice that she is about 15% less skittish than before. Still alot of work to do, but this is definitely a helpful, calming aid, so I can effectively do behavioral training. … more

    Good for cats that over-groom

    By on

My indoor cat developed the habit of overgrooming herself at the base of her tail and around her rear end. Eventually she licked off all the fur. Vet said she had no allergies and suggested Solliquin. Since her problem was so severe, it's taking a long time for the fur to grow back, but after giving her the chews for a couple of months, there is a big improvement. She mellows out after taking the chew crumbled up in her breakfast and now grooms herself in those areas normally.

    Something That Works

    By on

So far, so good. We have a very skittish large dog. Nothing was helping before. So far we have seen this work for him. I had gotten the chews for small to medium dogs. And we give him two. Not at once, maybe 20 minutes apart if one isn’t doing the trick. I got the smaller dose to see how a smaller dose worked before I bought the dose for large dogs. My husband was using the impact drill on the wall the other day, and Jasper did not seem to be affected at all. It’s a little early to know for sure if this is a godsend. But, so far so good.

    Definitely seems to be calming!!

    By on

We have used this for about a week and it does seem to noticeably "take the edge off" our anxious dog. Is it a cure all?? No...but it's not supposed to be. We use this in conjunction with his training to help allow him to relax enough to absorb what he needs to learn. It also seems to allow him to rest more peacefully when he is sleeping. We have used Prozac in the past (completely takes away his personality) and Trazadone (does nothing except make him very cranky/tired), but this seems to work without knocking him out. We will continue to use and hope that we continue to see improvement.

    Feeling Better!

    By on

My kitty was chewing his tummy raw. He seemed to be in good health and without fleas causing any irritation according to the vet. It appeared it could be an anxiety issue from boredom because he is an indoor cat with limited assisted time outside due to having only 3 legs. The vet gave us this product and said it may help him to be less anxious. It did and he has been healing and acting and feeling way more relaxed. Trying to help him with having more to stimulate his attention and activity inside as well. I highly recommend this product. Well worth the money. My daughter gives these to her kitties because of their fear of thunderstorms and one who also has general anxiety. They love the taste My kitty was chewing his tummy raw. Fireworks aren't going to get the best of my dog

    By on

I got these a few weeks before the 4th of July to see if there might be a natural way to help calm my dog for the fireworks, which he is terrified of. He is 42#. I gave him 2 on a day while we were having all kinds of tree and landscape work done in our yard. He slept calmly all day. It wasn't like he was drugged and out of it, just nice and peaceful.

    Not a good thing

    By on

We were hoping this would work for our older dog with dementia and it caused volcanic diarrhea. I understand you're supposed to let it take a few weeks of giving the doses before you start to see it working but we weren't willing to let our 15 year old dog have volcanic diarrhea for an extended period of time.

    Seems to help

My mini schnauzer has always had anxiety issues when she leaves the house. I can see less shivering and panting when we go for a walk or ride in the car. The anxiety is not gone, but not as overwhelming for her.

    Cats are obsessed with these

    By on

I purchased these as part of a multi-faceted approach to stop my cat from urinating on our bed. It's been about a week with no inappropriate urination, but I can't 100% thank the solliquin for that as her problems are always spaced out and random. However I am giving this 4 stars because they seem to have made a difference in her demeanor and my cats are obsessed with these. They sniff the bag. They lick the floor for crumbs. One cat eats anything, but the other is very picky and even she loves these. They are large for a cat, so I break them into quarters, but I don't think that's a big deal.
