Questions & Answers

I thought dogs couldn't have avocado?
Answer by ChewyJul 31, 2020
Avocado Soybean Unsaponifiables, known as ASU, are considered a vegetable extract that combines one-third avocado oil with two-thirds soybean oil. Avocado oil is a risk-free way to give your dog the benefits of this fruit. The confusion arises from the fact that avocados contain a substance called persin. Persin is a substance found in the avocado pit, skin, bark, and leaves of certain varieties.

What is “MSM”?
Answer by ChewyDec 16, 2018
MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) is a source of sulfur, a compound used by cartilage.

Are you able to grind up the chew and sprinkle on dog food?
Answer by ChewyJun 09, 2022
These chews are soft and may be easily broken apart.

Do you give one in the morning and one at night during the first 4 weeks or do you give the 2 chews at one time daily?
Answer by ChewySep 19, 2021
The recommended dosage amount should be given together daily. They can be given in the morning or night.

Nutramax

After my little boy, Barlow had IVDD and had restricted activity for almost 12weeks he recovered but I started using this product and now give it to both of my babies. The results of increased activity especially with him and their locating patellas their improvement has been amazing. I have recommended this product to many and they too have been pleased.

Nine Rescue Dogs say Thanks!

We’ve been giving our rescue dogs Dasuquin for a little over 2 weeks now. We can already see the difference in the hip joint movements in 2 of our elder dogs who are very arthritic. We feel confident that this supplement will help our younger dogs before the onset of Arthritis.

So so supplement

This product is either stale or badly formulated. It is what my vet wants me to use, unfortunately. It is hard and even hard for me to break apart for my chihuahua mix. I will be searching for another manufacturer.

Dasuquin

We’ve only been using them a couple weeks but the dogs love them. They were recommended by a friend that said they helped her dog so we’re optimistic.

Thor loves these!

I bought these at the recommendation of my vet for my 15-year-old Chihuahua Thor, who has arthritis, little wobbly on his feet, little trouble walking when he first gets up. I noticed a difference in him within a week. He’s more playful. He seems to be feeling much better. And he loves these things. It’s no issue at all to get him to eat them. And Chihuahuas can be picky!

Great product

I bought this at the recommendation of my vet for my 10 y/o basset/plot hound mix. I could tell his hips were bothering him so he’s been on the twice daily regimen for 10 days now and what a difference. He’s got pep back in his step and has even been more playful with my 18-month old Corgi mix. Don’t let the price scare you. If you love your senior dog it’s worth it not seeing them in pain or discomfort.

I hate to write a bad review.

My vet recommended this product for my dog, and I am sure it is a good product. However, both of our dogs experienced insomnia and restlessness after being on this supplement. I even took them off until the insomnia stopped, then restarted the supplement to be sure that it was the Dasuquin causing the problem. It definitely was because both dogs stopped the insomnia and then resumed the insomnia and restlessness after resuming the product a second time. I wanted to write this review to help and caution other dog owners only, not to slam the product.
