My 85-pound medium-fur Great Pyr/Anatolian shepherd mix sheds like I've never seen before. I used to have three dogs at once, including a collie shepherd, and all three together didn't shed a fourth as much as this dog. This might be why her former owners dumped her because she is gorgeous and a sweetheard. I thought it was the breed but then found out other Great Pyr owners were brushing their dogs once a week and letting them up on the furniture. I brushed mine every day, vacuumed every day, and that barely kept it under control. I couldn't figure out when her shedding season was because she was simply shedding like crazy all the time. For us, this worked better than expected. After two weeks, I noticed a significant difference. After four weeks, I am brushing her once or twice a week and vacuuming twice a week -- and the floors are not nearly as hairy after three days than they used to be after one. It's not the cheapest stuff in the world, but coconut oil, which also had been recommended, didn't work on her. This stuff is worth it. I can walk through my house with black leggings and not have them half-white by the time I get to the front door.
Our lab mix shed a LOT during the spring/summer season, and we've tried a lot of shedding solutions. Furminator, brushing daily, giving him salmon oil, etc. We still do our regular brushing, but this supplement takes it to another level! Has really reduced his shedding and keeping his coat healthy.
Our dog was shedding a lot and we were desperately looking for options to help with it. We started giving him these treats and using the Furminator shampoo, conditioner, and comb. We got everything from Chewy. Not sure what of all worked (or if all combined) but we are going to stick to it! :)
Maple was shedding like crazy. Used this for a few months. Some of the shedding stopped but I could still get a handful of hair from rubbing her back with a quick swipe. Switched to a product that’s 3x expensive and realized how much this didn’t work. Less than three days and the excessive shedding has ceased.
It says twice a day, I only give it to cherri my dog in the morning and it has reduced the shedding by 90 %. Completely satisfied and totally recommend
I just bought these, my dog has only been taking them less than a week. Will check back after she has been on them longer
Have a Shepherd/Lab rescue who sheds a lot. I think the above mentioned product does help along with brushing.
I’ve had 4 Boston Terriers consecutively, and never had one that shed excessively. My 14-month-old sheds like crazy, and it's a completely new phenomenon for me. I researched the cause and this product popped up, I was skeptical at first because of the mixed reviews. However, it's so reasonably priced, and all the ingredients are healthy either way, so I decided to buy it. That being said, in a 3 week's span the shedding has halted dramatically. I can't recommend this product any high enough, it works.
I have an Australian Cattle Dog that sheds like a husky. After a week I could see a difference when petting him. After a month I gave him a bath and there was probably 20 times less hair after bathing than normal. The shedding is not gone completely, but I'm hoping with even more time it will be less and less. Bonus, these smell DELICIOUS and my dogs love eating them. This is a great product, especially for the price.
I got these because my dogs are heavy shredders even with having short coats! My lab of course loved them and thought they were treats. My great Dane doesn't really take and type or treats or anything usually but she ate these with no problem. They also can blend in with dog food without a problem. My only problem is that there are only 60 chews in one bag and you have to give one per 20 pounds of body weight, twice a day. That saying I have to give my lab 4 a day and my Dane 8 a day so this product definitely will not last long here. If you have a small dog it may be worth the purchase but not if you have multiple large dogs. I may go with an oil supplement to put on their food next time.
