The feeding instructions only go up to 65 pounds- is this suitable for a 100 lbs dog?

How big are the pieces? Would they be small enough for a small dog?

This recipe's kibble is a medium size and is appropriate for a small breed dog.

re: nutro venison it says chicken meal on the ingredients on the back of bag but then also has a check mark on the back of bag that says no chicken meal? Is there chicken meal in the venison? My dogs are allergic to chicken. thanks!

This food does contain Chicken Meal, which is the dry rendered product from a combination of clean chicken flesh and skin with or without accompanying bone, derived from whole carcasses of chicken, exclusive of feathers, heads, feet and entrails. The Meal is used as a source of high protein. Nutro does not use chicken/poultry by-product meals in this recipe. By-products are the identified meat, plus some of the internal organs. An example of this would be chicken by-products, which would consist of chicken meat, plus some of the internal organs.

Good food but a bit much

Food is great for our older Newfy who has food allergies. But as with most all dog food over the past 3 years this has become very pricey. Now near $100/bag with

Food is great for our older Newfy who has food allergies. But as with most all dog food over the past 3 years this has become very pricey. Now near $100/bag with auto ship and fully understand inflationary pressures, but at the end of 2019 I paid $59/bag for this food, in 2020 it was up to $66, in 2021 it was up to $69, in 2022 it went up to $89 and now - without auto ship it is $105/bag. So an almost 80% increase in 4 years? I do know that dog food inflation was not 80% over those 4 years. Chewy is great but would love to see prices come back down a bit.

My yellow labrador retriever was having such problems with his ears - bright red, itchy, swollen, etc. Our vet concluded he had severe allergies, and after an antibiotic and steroid, it was recommended to me to switch him to a single source protein food. We had tried others in the past such as chicken, lamb and beef, and this time I looked into a venison formula for him. Not only are his ears remaining free and clear of allergic symptoms, but he absolutely gobbles this food down unlike any other food we have ever given him. Something to think about if your pet suffers from allergies.
