This product was a game changer for one of my Shih Tzu dogs. She will be 15 years old in July and has had gastrointestinal issues for years. She recently had a terrible flare up, would not eat any food at all, not even the bland diet I made for her. I decided to try giving her Opti Meal and she ate!! She was able to digest this and has continued eating it. She is now doing well and full of energy. I couldn't be happier! The ingredients in this food are very healthy, with no by products. I highly recommend this product. I have 2 female Shih Tzu litter mates and they both love this food and are doing so well digesting it. If this can help my old gals with their issues, just imagine what it will do for your fur baby! I hope you give this food a try for your pet, I think you will be delighted to see your doggie enjoy and look forward to their next meal time!

Love that the first ingredient is Lamb, and that there is no chicken by product. The size and shape are perfect for my smaller breed dogs as well. The pieces are a bit larger than most small breed dog kibble but I like that so it helps my dogs actually chew and not just swallow the kibble whole. My dogs seem to enjoy it and ate their whole bowl with no issues, i havent noticed any stomach issues like runny poo or vomitting yet. Overall i think its a good product, i would purchase this again.

I mostly use wet/canned food but wanted a kibble to supplement or use as a treat or snack. I like the nutritious ingredients of Opti Meal. My little chiweenie really likes it and gets excited when she sees me going to the bag. She has had no issues with this being introduced to her diet. She hasn’t been eating it long enough to comment on how it affects her health but based on the ingredient list, I’m sure it will be beneficial!

I tried this food for my pups, and overall it’s a solid option. The ingredients seem high-quality, and I really appreciated the nutritional profile. It didn’t upset their stomachs, and they adjusted to it easily, which is always a plus. That said, it didn’t seem to be their absolute favorite in terms of taste—they ate it, but not with their usual excitement. Every dog has their preferences, though, and this one just didn’t hit the top of the list for mine. Still a good product worth trying!

I got my two Chihuahuas the Optimeal Nutrient Balance Lamb & Rice Recipe Small Breed 3 days ago. One will eat anything, the other doesn’t like much of anything. My dogs have no teeth and this food is a kibble. Added hot water, but it is just too difficult to get the dry crushed and softened enough for them to eat it without a lot of difficulty. Will try the Optimeal canned since what they were able to eat, they seemed to really enjoy. And since one doesn’t want to eat anything, the fact that she ate this to the best of her ability means a lot to me.

We have three dogs all with different needs and this food is a perfect fit. They all love the taste and we especially love the clean ingredients and the thinner kibble pieces for our smallest older dog with jaw issues. Usually it is difficult to find the right size kibble for her with the quality we want in a reasonable price point so this feed is perfect. Not to mention it was the easiest transition with zero gastro upset, Win for all.
