My dogs aren’t fans of this food

For me the reaction from my dogs is how I determine if we will purchase a second bag. They are not fans and went without eating until they couldn’t go hungry any

Smelly But Popular

I purchased the 44 lb bag of med/large breed dog food. It has a nice slide lock on the front. The first night it arrived I handed it to Brutus when he came back inside from doing business. He easily accepted it as a treat. It has a smell, I think fishy, but he gobbles it down. He wasn't this into his Blue Buffalo limited ingredient turkey kibble. Before that he had Hill's Diet for seniors. He would often need meal mixers for both. He can be quite picky but seems to relish this still, 6 days in. Which is good bc a 44 lb bag was a bit of a gamble but a hard to resist unit price. Brutus has hyperadrenal issues and is scheduled for more tests. I found recommended nutrition for Cushing's online and this was one of the few non-prescription kibbles closest to the values recommended. Lower in fat, higher in fiber, lots of omegas etc for his dry, often-infected skin. Brutus is a 12 y/o Boston Terrier. The kibble is bigger than his usual, they're kind of large disks, like maybe 2 nickels stacked together. He doesn't seem to have problems eating it, and I'm hopeful being forced to chew is good for his teeth (he swallows the small stuff whole). It was slower to arrive- shipped from NV. I ordered 1/13 and it arrived 1/21. I did appreciate the company is Ukrainian. My vet hadn't heard of the brand to give an opinion. With Brutus's current health issues, I'm satisfied that he's happily filling his tummy, is getting a healthy diet, and hasn't shown any negative reactions - except presumably fish breath :p
