A gradual transition to a new pet food is important to avoid digestive upset. To transition, mix your pet's current food with the new food. Over 7 days, gradually decrease the amount of the current pet food while increasing the amount of new pet food.
I read so many positive reviews, I decided to purchase this food for its promise of helping with digestion issues. However, I am very disappointed as my two dogs will not even approach their food dishes with this kibble in it--even a little bit of this mixed in with their existing food. I assumed that it would be palatable, as they like several other kinds of Science Diet, including chicken and barley, sensitive stomach, and perfect weight. This one, however, is rejected by both Goldens, even the one that LOVES to eat and has never walked away from her food bowl. It's so expensive, I thought the dogs would love it, but a big "no" from both of them.
My doggo and I have tried many quality dry foods and all have resulted in a bit more that occasional bouts of irregulartiy, ie. loose stools. This formulation from Science Diet has minimized that and has been his food now for many months.
Tried with my German shepherd and he has had diarrhea for two weeks now. I will not continue to feed this to my dog. He will go back on Royal Canin.
I’m not sure what’s wrong with this good, as we gradually mix it in he got upset tummy and is now refusing to eat any food with this food mixed in.
Always order this for my 11 year old rescue dog. Chewy gets it to me fast and guarantees the product. Moonshine is doing great on this food.
Dogs eat this food eagerly. Mixed with Purina Pro Plan, they pick this out to eat first. Kind of pricier but puppers love it!
Mickey was dealing with really loose stools. Had him on another brand of dry dog food. He couldn't go through the night without having an accident in the house. I called and asked advice from one of your people. She suggested this product, and within a short period of time our problem is completely solved. Firm healthy stools and no more accidents. Thanks for your help and guidance.
My dog is a liver shunt dog and requires a prescription kibble. When her Rx kibble was not available I found this and it has what she needs e.g. low protein and with healthy grains (not grain free). She likes it and that makes me happy.
Our dog really likes this food and it has resolved his stomach issues.
Our Tatra Mountain Dog ate something sharp. He was sick and fragile for a long time while he healed internally. When he was well enough for a regular diet, this is what we chose, and he liked it immediately. The size of the kibble is exceptional for a large breed dog. It's been almost 3 months, and he still does well on this formula as his main food, with a few tablespoons of warm water, digestive supplements, probiotics, herbals, chicken breast snacks, dollops of plain yogurt, pumpkin puree, and banana slices. Hopefully, Hills won't change the formula. Fingers crossed.
