Transition Instructions

When switching diets, it's important to transition your cat or kitten as it takes time for her digestive system to adapt to the richer nutrient levels in ORIJEN. Over a 5-7 day period, gradually mix in ORIJEN, increasing the amount each day so that by day 7 you are feeding 100% ORIJEN.

    Glad I switched

By trulaydee on Nov 29, 2021

My 6 months old kitten loves it. I transitioned from Hill's to this and I have noticed my kittens coat is healthier looking, she's more energetic, and she's not eating as much, definitely more filling. Shes also drinking more water. Glad I.made the switch.

    Quality ingredients, kitten devoured it.

By KhloMoney on Sep 21, 2021

I recently adopted a kitten, Khloe and have been trying various healthy/premium foods. Previously, I tried Instinct Raw Boost but she only ate the freeze dried pieces, she was highly unimpressed with the actual kibble. I’m not sure what exactly it was about it she didn’t like, but she loved this kitten formula of Orijen! I mixed some of her old food with her new food and she ate around the old food and only ate the Orijen. I’m no nutritionist but the ingredients look pretty good, although the lentils and peas seem like an unnecessary filler. Half a star knocked for that, and the other half of a star knocked because I personally prefer the Canadian formula over the NorthStar Kitchen USA formula I recently adopted a kitten, Khloe and have been trying various healthy/premium foods. Great, high-quality food for kitten!

By AhsokasMom on Aug 31, 2021

Started my then-3-month-old on Instinct dry food for kittens (which is also great), but when Orijen became available, I switched her to the Cat and Kitten, which she loved. When this one came out specifically for kittens (she’s now 5 months old) I jumped at the chance to get it, and she loves it as well! I’m so happy to have found such a great quality brand at affordable prices. Every time I take her to the vet, they ask me what I’m feeding her because her skin and coat are so excellent. Of course each kitten will have their own preferences, but I highly recommend trying this dry food out. Now I’m just waiting for Orijen to make a wet food available for cats and kittens, because I will definitely Started my then-3-month-old on Instinct dry food for kittens (which is also great), but when Orijen became available, I switched her to the Cat and Kitten, which she loved. My kitten loves it!

By Seleste on Nov 17, 2021

My very wild kitten loves this food we tried a lot of different foods he wouldn’t eat or he would eat very little this is the first good he finishes his bowl! And actively ask for it’s a bit pricy but worth it in our case.

    Bengals love this kitten food

    By Bengalcatmom21 on Aug 27, 2021

My Bengals seam to like this food . So far its only been 1 day so I'm mixing it in their bowls with their current (Purina pro plan focus ) dry cat food . I was really searching for a better quality dry kitten food that all my cats would love to eat and this one has excellent ingredients and high protein and fat for active bengal cats and DHA for healthy growth and development for our kittens . I also really love how the packaging looks and feels and the fact that it has a zipper closure to keep their food fresh that a lot of brands are lacking . The kibble is smaller pieces than the Orijen Cat & kitten but I'd still like to see them make it even a tad bit smaller still for younger kittens . My Bengals seam to like this food . won’t touch it

By emilykh on Nov 2, 2021

My kittens will not eat this. Which is unfortunate because I love Orijen and they are obsessed with the Orijen freeze dried treats. I thought they would love this but they prefer Blue Buffalo holistic kitten food over this stuff.

    Always impressed

By KittenMama on Sep 20, 2021

I am so glad Orijen made a separate food especially for kittens. I rescued 3 feral kittens who would've probably ate trash if I had offered it so I can't say "this is for picky kittens" but they took right to it. It's put some weight on them and made their fur shine. I have always loved Orijens quality and this is no exception. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to give their kitten a healthy start in life.

    Great Accept!

By milky on Oct 1, 2021

The half year old boy really likes it, but I found that after eating this cat food, he poops more often, from once a day before to twice or three times a day now. Not quite sure it is good or not.

    Disappointed kittens wont eat it

By StephD on Aug 23, 2021

I have an older kitten who's been eating Orijen cat and kitten. We have a new kitten so I bought the new kitten food. They don't make the cat and kitten anymore and those pieces are quite large for a small kitten. Neither kitten will eat it. The little one actually picks it out of the bowl and plays with it.
