Transitioning to ORIJEN

It says "Made in the USA with some of the world's finest ingredients". My question is: Are the ingredients made in the USA?

ORIJEN sources ingredients regionally and does not source ingredients directly from China, though their B vitamins are made with raw materials that originate in China. This would apply to vitamins B1, B6, and B9, and is consistent throughout the pet food industry. ORIJEN food goes through a comprehensive supplier management and verification program to ensure ingredient safety. Up to 88% of the protein will originate from animal ingredients.

Could you tell me if you use any antibiotics, hormones, or pesticides in raising the animals to make the food? Thank you for your time and l look forward to your reply.

Depending on the supplier, growth hormones may be included in the feed. ORIJEN meat ingredients are free of antibiotics. This does not mean that the animal has never received antibiotics, but that the proper withdrawal times were adhered to and the animal is free of antibiotics prior to slaughter. Antibiotics, if they are required, are administered in accordance with the FDA. Maximum residue limits for each veterinary drug are set and must be met through appropriate withdrawal times following treatment before the animal can be slaughtered.
Is this organic and gluten-free?

ORIJEN does not use GMO ingredients in any of their foods. The fruits and vegetables used in their recipes are not organic, but are sourced from a specially curated group of leading farmers. They do not use any gluten-containing ingredients in their recipes either. However, because it is possible for gluten-free grains to come into contact with gluten-containing grains post-harvest (even in microscopic amounts), they do not guarantee their kitchens are 100% gluten-free.

Dramatic difference in appearance

We adopted a cat from someone who could no longer care for her. They were feeding her very low quality food. We tried the slow mix, but she picked out only the orijin food. Within a week, she had gained a half a pound. After a month her fur is silky she has filled out and looks amazing. Her previous owner also indicated she vomited a lot. So far, she has not at all for us.

Best food ever

Orijen is a very high quality dry food which all my cats love. I started buying it because I have a couple of older cats that need to maintain their weight. There’s no junk in this! It’s pricey, but that’s part of a diet that’s keeping them well.

Good food

I really like this brand for my cat, and I also get this for my dogs who love it. My only complaint is that the resealable portion of the bag literally never works. I tear it from the place the have marked and it never actually works out so that the bags can be resealed

Origen Dry Cat Food

My cat likes this flavor and he gobbles it up. I'm happy that he likes it especially since this is a very healthy cat food blend with high protein. From now on this cat food will be our choice for my senior cat.

Good product for picky cats but ...

This is one of Mao's fav. Food, so I often order it for her. But this time when I tried to open the 12lbs Orijen the ziplock seal is missing! Now I have a 12lbs cat food without seal.....is this an new packaging problem? Or is this a defective package?

Bengal Breeder Recommended

I have been happy that my two new bengals (kitten and 1 yr. old) have been eating away with this high protein dry food. This brand was recommended by my bengal breeder due to quality and likability. The kitties eat a raw food diet primarily, but this is offered as well. Some days they eat more of this than the raw food. This will make it a bit easier for caregivers in feeding them in our absence.

Picky Cat Likes It!

My very picky cat liked this food from first bite. I transitioned to wet food during the day, but at night I leave a small amount of this Original Cat formula in her bowl as she likes a little snack before bedtime and sometimes gets peckish in the middle of the night. It has a strong smell in the bag that wafts out when you open it, so beware of that. The smell does not linger, and it doesn't affect Kitty's breath. Kitty and I both give this food a thumbs up!

be aware of the expiration date

Bought a 12lb bag at the end of Mar and received a bag that expires in Oct..I have two boys im not quite sure it should be ok? But if you like to buy big bags make sure you have plenty of time to finish before expire since it’s so pricy.

Transition Food

I am transitioning my two cats to all an all wet/raw diet. One cat is allergic to chicken, except in dry form. Orijen is the best of the processed dry foods, I have found. It has more taurine, than most dry foods. It also has omega 3 and 6 amino acids. I feed my cats Orijen, in the evening, as a third meal.

My cat adjusted well...

I switched my cat to this food and she's had less throwing up after eating and doesn't seem as hungry between meals as she did with her previous food.
