Is this suitable for chinchillas under 1

This food is formulated for adult chinchillas that are the age of 1 year and above.
how large are the pellets? my chinchilla is having trouble holding my current food.

The Essentials Chinchilla pellets are 1/8-inch diameter, range 0.25 - 0.75 inch length. The Garden Select Chinchilla pellets are 5/32-inch diameter, range 0.25 - 0.75 inch length.
Does this food have any added sugar? I was told to give my degus a chinchilla diet with low sugar content.

How many servings are in the 25lbs bag?

Serving size is going to depend on a lot of factors, such as your pet's weight and age. There is a basic recommendation on the back of the packaging but you may also need to work with your vet to decide on the most appropriate amount. This food is only good for three months after the bag is opened, less if transferred to a different container, so it is important to buy an amount that can be eaten within that time period.

Bought recently only because no other choice

My husband & I love Oxbow for the most part for our pet chinchilla except we realized this was the ONLY choice by them for chinchilla pellets. It's primarily Alfalfa Hay which shouldn't be given to a adult chinchilla besides sometimes, not everyday. PLEASE make Garden Select easier to purchase with 25lb bag too! It's healthier for adult chins.

Main Ingredient is ALFALFA HAY

These are pellets you will feed your chinchilla daily and the number one main ingredient is alfalfa hay. Alfalfa is high in protein and should ONLY be given to chinchillas as treats. Their garden select pellets use main ingredient as timothy, which is ideal.

Best chinchilla food!

This is the only chinchilla food I buy and my chinchilla loves it. I always get the big bag from chewy because it's far more affordable than the smaller bags at the pet store. I put it in an airtight container and it lasts for months.

Best food!!

My chinchillas love this food and as from all my research it is the best food you can get. The other types of food have harmful fruits and vegetables that domestic chinchillas cannot have in their diet.

A good back up option

I generally prefer the garden selection by this brand because it doesn't have the cane molasses, has a natural and enticing smell and texture compared to this. However the garden select has been very difficult to find lately so this is my back up. Chinchillas shouldn't have sugar but since molasses is everything from the sugar cane except for the actual sugar part (sugar is extracted) then it's a grear back options.
