Description

Feed your young pet a diet that has the protein and energy they need to support their growing needs with Oxbow Essentials Mouse & Young Rat Food. Growing, energetic young mice and rats require higher levels of certain nutrients than adults to keep them healthy. Oxbow Essentials Mouse & Young Rat Food is nutritionally balanced and contains optimal protein, fat and energy sources to help mice and rats under six months thrive. Its uniform format prevents selective feeding and finicky eating habits that are commonly associated with mixes and seed-based diets. Feed young mice and rats as well as pregnant or nursing pets an unlimited supply.

  • Best food for rats

    By on

I have been feeding oxbow to my rats for 5 years, so I wholeheartedly reccomend this wholesome, balanced rat diet. You can even order a 20lb bag through chewy in the options on the oxbow's product information page. Rats are prone to obesity, tumors, and various other health issues this diet has helped me see the least of this things in my rat keeping experience. Vegetables, fruits, and other rat safe foods should be supplemented of course, but as a main balanced diet, this is the best you can get. Most other foods have dried corn in it which can have mold or parasites. Oxbow does not.

  • Good For Mice, Not For Young Rats...

    By on

When I originally got my four boys I immediately reached for this food, but to be on the cautious side, I asked the breeder I got them from and my veterinarian what they thought and they both told me that this is NOT good food for young rats! The first ingredient in this food is ground corn, which rats can't digest. So after I got a stern talking to from my vet, I went and ordered the adult oxbow and they've been happy and healthy ever since!

I just ordered this product yesterday and its already here! It came sealed and fresh. I put it in all of my mouses' cages. So far my pregnant mouse Cashmere loves it, my sick mouse hasn't touched it and neither did my male but it's only been about thirty minutes so i will give it time.

My young rats go for these blocks over any other brand. I find Oxbow to be superior to the others anyway, so happy rats, happy Mom :)

The best in balances of nutrition. Kayte and hartz are trash brands. My ratties love this and their shape.
