  • Disappointed

I was so excited thinking this product would be the answer to the mess created by feeding my rabbits traditional hay. While it does cut back on having large pieces of hay on the floor the process of twisting it a part causes tiny particles to get everywhere including the air. While the room may be cleaner, the cage is messier because so much is wasted due to the inedible dust it creates. It is difficult to get out of the package and my bunnies don’t seem to like it as much as traditionally packaged hay. Really hoped this would be a much needed solution but am very disappointed. Not worth the extra money

  • Nice healthy green hay

I’m very happy with this hay. It’syummy smelling Timothy. Also easy to store and feed. Even though we have horses , I like the ease of feeding this hay. Less dust for my very allergic teen daughter.

  • Not a fan of the mess

Bought these for my mini rex house rabbit but not only were they pretty messy he didn't like them as much as the pressed timothy hay cubes and the loose hay we keep in a hay manger.

  • guinea pigs love it

I have four guinea pigs so this didn't last very long--but, they all love it, and they don't agree on anything. Also, this is excellent to have in an emergency/evacuation kit.

At first sight I didn't think this would go far, but it has. I've pulled the sections apart as I go and my buns like it. It seems to make less of a mess for me.

  • These are really convenient, but the guinea pigs make a mess

I believe it's 6 pucks of hay that the stack is cut into, and then the plastic wrapping around it. I use these when either I'm sick, or my significant other is looking after the guinea pigs, because he has a physical reaction to loose hay and dust. He can handle these without going into an asthma attack or sneezing fit. It's not cost effective to use these all the time, unless you are a sufferer like he is, and then you have this option. I'm good, so I usually keep a 25 lb box of Oxbow Orchard Grass in the basement. I like the niche for this product and we do use them. If I were boarding my guinea pigs at the vet or with a sitter, I would use these still, instead of packing up my loose hay I believe it's 6 pucks of hay that the stack is cut into, and then the plastic wrapping around it. • Harvest stacks

I don't find that these are much less messy than loose hay, as my rabbits love to toss them about and tear them apart, but there's less dust for sure. They smell fresh, look very green, and even my little rabbit who normally doesn't eat much timothy hay enjoys rolling it around and nibbling it. Each block lasts a few days, and seems to be entertaining as well as tasty. I would buy these more often if the price were lower, though here on Chewy is the best price I've seen. :) Definitely handy to give your buns more choice in their hay selection, and good if you need to travel or avoid too much dust.

  • Crazy beasties

I don't pull these apart. Pop a puck in the cage and watch them jump on it, like a pack of crazy, rabid creatures. Keeps them busy.

  • Fun and tidy!

I first got these as a chain pet store because it was the only Oxbow hay they had! Once I got home and opened it up, I put two in their enclosure and let them pull apart some of compressed hay. You are supposed to twist it open to make it easier for the piggies to get at, but if you twist it and leave some of the hay compressed they seem to enjoy pulling at it. It is also a lot neater than the normal hay so I use it for floor time often.

  • It's still messy

It's still as messy as loose hay. My buns love it, but as someone with a hay allergy it's not much of an alternative.
