I really wanted to like this litter. The grain size is great, and there is literally zero dust, which is a huge plus and something a lot of litters fail at. That said, I’ve never been a fan of clumping litter, and this one reminded me why. It sticks badly to the sides of the litter box, which makes cleanup frustrating. When my cat urinates, it takes a noticeable amount of time for the litter to absorb the liquid, and I’m not a fan of that delay. Odor control was also disappointing. For a product called “Poop Shield,” I expected much better odor coverage, especially for bowel movements, and it just didn’t deliver. The packaging looks nice and feels sturdy, but I really wish it had a resealable zipper or closure to make storage easier. Overall, this litter just wasn’t for me. Even though there were a couple of positives, I wouldn’t purchase it again.

We tried this for the first time for the last couple of weeks for our small cat in a traditional (non-robotic) enclosed litter box. We’ve been going through some various litters, and Paco & Pepper litter made from olive pits may just be our favorite so far! - truly no dust in the air! - no odor — really important for me and my husband, who was really impressed - our little dog doesn’t seem interested in eating it - clumps well - works with a regular scoop - cat seems to like it I’m hopeful litter made from olive pits might avoid some of the health concerns around clay-based litters, too. I’ve never found a litter that didn’t track a little bit, so that seems inevitable/a little dependent on cat behavior/litter setup. A mat outside the box and a little dustpan nearby helps keep it contained. That said? I think this is tracking a little less than I expected, which is a huge bonus!

Like other cat owners, the search for the "best" litter is a time consuming effort. Many new products have become available over the years. My top priorities are for the safety of my cats. I prefer clumping, natural, unscented, dust free litter. I have tried dozens of litters from different companies, even tried chicken feed years ago. Clumping removes most of the urine. Scented litter is not good for cats. It adds unnecessary chemicals to the litter that cats do not need or like. Dust irritates their respiratory system, especially in an enclosed box and for cats with asthma. With Paco & Pepper Poop Shield charcoal clumping litter, most of my likes are met. I prefer a litter with a color light enough that any blood can be detected. It is not as dark as the walnut litter. It controls odors well. Not much can eliminate the odor of cat poop. This does a fair job if the cat covers the poop. Frequent cleaning is the answer. A major plus is NO dust. The only negative issue is the tracking. This litter is small bits that cling to paws. The best litter I tried for that issue was tofu pellets. So I tolerate more clean up time to provide the cats with what I consider a better litter for them.

I have been trying to get away from clay and crystal litters for various reasons. My cats tolerate tofu pellet litter. So far I like this litter because it's truly dust free (one of my cats has respiratory issues) and it clumps VERY well. Yes it sticks to the litter box, get a steel box and it pops right off! Odor control is a joke tho. One of my boxes is in my bedroom and I'm having to run my air purifier full time since switching to this litter. It does NOTHING for poo odor control (urine seems fine). Jury's still out...I'll give this another couple of weeks and see if I change my mind.

if you ever walked into your place and the litter box reminds you of all the fun cat odors. I and i bet everyone else dislikes the stink so i wanted to give this litter a try. We switched to it a few days ago, and I can declare that the odor control is insane. Charcoal isn’t just a buzz word it actually traps the smell instead of trying to cover it up (like those scented litters where it’s fake floral + poop smell), With this litter it’s just nothing like I’ll scoop and be genuinely confused because I expected the usual stink and it’s not there?? We’ve got multiple cats so there’s always someone using the box 5 minutes after it’s cleaned. (Teamwork makes the dream work I guess) even with that chaos the ammonia smell doesn’t build up and the number two moments don’t linger in the air. It stays way fresher between cleanings, which is basically magic in a litter box house :) ps. bonus points it pours clean with basically zero dust!! really great for my kitty with asthma :) the clumps stay solid and my cats seemed to love it. Honestly, this is the first litter that made me go “Oh, that’s how litter must work”

Surprisingly similar in price to tofu litter which is another alternative I use to clay. I was pleasantly surprised how well this litter clumps up urine. It’s not as instant like clay litter is, but it gets the job done. It doesn’t cover poop as good though! It masks the urine smell pretty well, but doesn’t do as good with poop. And there’s actually zero dust! I was also expecting some kind of smell to come with the litter, but it’s actually almost completely odorless. It doesn’t track as bad as clay litter, but I also noticed the cats feet are getting a bit more oily after using it for a while- not the biggest problem though as I can just wipe their feet! Overall a good alternative to clay litter, and comparable to tofu litter with function and price.

It contains activated charcoal that traps odors from both pee and poop before they spread. It’s completely dust free, easy to pour, and the clumps are solid and simple to scoop with no mess stuck to the box. Tracking is also much more manageable.My cats approved it right away. I also love that it’s eco friendly and made from olive pits, so I feel safe even if my cats track it on their paws and accidentally ingest a little. Best of all, my home finally smells clean. 10/10 and def will buy again

Really happy with this one I’ve tried a lot of litters and this one surprised me. First thing I noticed was there was literally no dust when I poured it in which never happens with clay litter. The area around the box stays way cleaner. It clumps good but you do need to wait a bit before scooping. Once it sets it holds together fine. Smell control has been really good so far especially for pee. I don’t notice odors like I used to. My cat had no issues using it and there’s less tracking around the house. Yeah it’s more expensive but honestly I think it’s worth it for how clean it stays. I’ll be buying it again.

This is a fantastic product. Upon opening the bag and pouring the litter into the litter box I noticed that it was quite different from any other cat litter that I've ever used. It's a clay color and shaped in small round balls. I could also see the charcoal mixed in throughout the litter. To my surprise there was no litter dust at all. That right there is a win, win to me. I have 5 cats. Some of them took to the litter right away the others took a little bit until they saw the ones who used it and then decided to use it too. I was just floored when my cats used the litter box and after they covered it there was absolutely no odor at all. You'd never be able to tell that the cat had used the box. Scooping the box was a little different. You will need a scoop with large slots as this is not a dust litter and it will not sift through small holes. But all the same it did clump together very well. I'm giving this product 5 stars for it's performance as a cat litter. With this litter you couldn't ask for more. The only downside of this cat litter is the price. With having 5 cats there is no way I could afford this cat litter. But if I were a pet owner with only 1 cat I think I could swing it and it would be well worth the money and having a dust free, clean smelling home. Kudos to whom ever came up with this idea for cat litter and the company that makes it. Thank You.

No dust for sensitive kitties and cat-parents!

I have a senior cat with asthma, so my cat litter needs to be 100% dust-free for a cleaner litter box area. Paco & Pepper litter goes above and beyond in this regard. Not to mention, it is excellent in elimnating odors using activated charcoal. It clumps well and is easy to scoop and is completly dust free. One of the things I like best is that it doesn't get tracked out of the litter box and leave a dusty, gross reisdue on the floor or my furniture. I think we have found our new litter!!
