Our 2 ferrets are young and healthy, so we used this Dook Soup as a treat, either once or twice a week (as they are getting other treats as well). The gravy consistency will depend on the quantity one will prepare (how much water is poured and how much ingredient). Both ferrets liked it, although one of them has the tendency to eat more food in general. I did not have the time yet to compare the ingredients listed on the package with other brand(s) of dook soup, but I will. If I decide it looks better this one, will definitely buy in the future.

The Dook Soup is a big hit with my ferret! I didn't get it as soupy as I could have, so I will add more water next time. I've never used a freeze dried soup before, so I'm learning how it works. It smells really good, like homemade Chicken broth fresh off the stove. My ferret went right for it, I wasn't sure if she would because ferrets usually turn their nose up at new foods. I really like that this Freeze dried mix doesn't expire quickly once opened. I like the ingredients, perfect for our cute furry carnivores. I'm eager to try more products from The Pampered Ferret!

I have my own concction of ferret gravy that includes Uncle Jim’s Duk Soup, several wet ferret foods, assorted vitamins and stuff, and the boys get it every day as part of their out-of-the-cage time. They are super picky about that gravy too, and it isn’t cheap to make. On more than one occasion I’ve messed with the formula and had to remake the entire batch because they just werent collectively having it. So I tried this stuff out in a single serving of gravy. Success! Or at least not rejection. They ate all of it. So I tried it by itself, as part of a surprise late-night snack for the boys. And I was shocked. I mentioned that they were picky, right? They were nosing each other out of the way to get to the stuff. I don’t think they’ve ever taken to a powdered gravy like this before. At least not by itself. I had to spend a great deal of time last week (post Christmas) nursing little Wesley ferret back to health after a terrible toothache that cost him 1/3 of his weight and most of my nerves. He could only eat soft foods, and warm water. And for three nights he was too weak to move very much and I was convinced we’d lose him. But this gravy was the one thing he didn’t struggle to eat. My gravy is something he loves, but it had too many chunks. This gravy I could thin out a little and still feel he was getting nutrition. And fast-forward to now, he’s up a quarter pound and he is back on his kibble. This product came in handy, and I will be keeping it on hand because finding a NEW thing that my boys like is a rare thing.

Lovely packaging but price point is a bit high

We tried this product with several groups both seniors and younger ferrets to test palatability and how well they ate it compared to their normal soupie recipe

We tried this product with several groups both seniors and younger ferrets to test palatability and how well they ate it compared to their normal soupie recipe. Unfortunately they mostly sniffed it, a few took a lick or two but left the bowl full . For those with one or two ferrets this product( if they like it) would be an option but the price point for those with rescues , its not a great option.

This product is great for older ferrets. The product itself is dehydrated but the instructions are to mix it with water to create the “soup”. I have an older ferret

This product is great for older ferrets. The product itself is dehydrated but the instructions are to mix it with water to create the “soup”. I have an older ferret with teeth problems that this worked well for! I would add this to her daily pellet food and it would soften her food to make it easier to eat, as well as give her the extra nutrients she needed. A little messy to put together because of the packaging but overall a great product.
