We were skeptical when we purchased this for our dog’s birthday-we thought she might be afraid of it but she loves fresh water so we gave it a try. She is obsessed!! When

We were skeptical when we purchased this for our dog’s birthday-we thought she might be afraid of it but she loves fresh water so we gave it a try. She is obsessed!! When we unplug it to refill it or clean she immediately wants to know what we are doing with her fountain! It isn’t quiet. You can hear it throughout a small home but the sound isn’t unpleasant. With a 90 pound Great Pyrenees it needs deep cleaning and filter changes every week and a refill every 2 days. It is easy to clean and refill. The water isn’t “fresher” than a clean bowl but our dog adores it and I think the design might help prevent her from drinking too quickly when excited. Our first fountain lasted about 6 months before the plastic window started to leak. We are ordering the same fountain again simply because our dog is so obsessed but $55 plus filters for 6 months is a little disappointing. A tip-before we set it up I fed our dog a few meals from the top tray to encourage positive association and then I made sure not to rattle the fountain (sound sensitive) when I did set it up and gave her the option of a standard water bowl as backup but she has never looked back.

This is super quiet. Best part, my dog is drinking more water than before. It's very easy to rinse out and refill. Haven;t had to do a filter change or filter tube cleaning but they supplied a brush to make that part easier. If I could give more stars, I would. The previous one I purchased was exceptionally loud no matter what I did to try and make it more quiet. And I'm guessing here, but I think the reason my dog is drinking more water is because it tastes good and is fresher than stagnant water sitting in a bowl.

Gets gross quickly

So I cleaned this more frequently than it says to. Probably every 3 days or so. There was so much slime on the filter and the inside pieces. I thought this was going

So I cleaned this more frequently than it says to. Probably every 3 days or so. There was so much slime on the filter and the inside pieces. I thought this was going to be great. I eventually felt like it was unsafe to use this based on the buildup. Important to note that only one dog used this and I put filtered water in it.

Water fountain

Pets use it some but not a lot. It is difficult to see the water level. No scum gathers on the top. Must change filters every 2 weeks.

Helping my blind dog

My pups ended up getting SARDS Which makes animals go blind pretty much over night. My world turned upside down within a matter of a month. So as soon as calmed down & started thinking rational again My 1st concern was how am I going to help my poor sweet boy I dont kno the first thing about training dogs let alone blind ones. Thank goodness I had a client that had went thru this w/her pup, so she gave me a book & I started researching everything i culd, so they vet told me he wuld adjust & that hus other senses , hearing & smelling, wuld kick in so im like hmmmm, well I guess my mother bear instincts took over & thats how I came across this water fountain my boy took to it like a fish to water he wuld run into the bowl I had before but this he culd hear the water trickling & it has truly been a real benefit. It is easy to assemble, it has water filters that clean the water & my pups & cats love the water fountain part, it is quiet but u can hear a little water flow which i like its like a zen thing for me. I dont have to constantly fill it up mayb every 3rd or 4th day as I c in the cool windiw that the water is getting low & once a week i clean it & fill it up & done super easy. My blind boy can hear the water so hes able to find it wenever he needs a drink & its stable so hes not bumping into it & im not having to clean up water from allover my floor. This fountain has been a total game changer my pup feels more confident & im thrilled that im helping him by thinking of ways I can make his life & mine easier in this new transition of his life. Thank you chewy for all the ways you help our fur baybeez & their parents

Holds plenty of water

It is a large container of water, but has only a small fountain, which is perfect for my dog. He would be leary of a large fountain.
