Questions & Answers

2 Customer Questions

Are the meal worms safe for blue birds.

Answer by ChewyJan 31, 2020
Mealworms offer molting birds an excellent source of protein. Bluebirds will eat the following offerings at feeders: mealworms, suet dough, fruit, and sunflower bits.

Where are these sourced from?

Answer by ChewyMar 23, 2020
These dried insects are sourced from China. All ingredients are carefully examined, tested, and packaged in one of their two processing facilities (Fargo, ND and Lubbock, TX) to help ensure the quality of every Pecking Order product. The manufacturer has obtained SQF (safe quality food) certification which is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).

Subpar product

Not nearly as good as the Happy Hen dried mealworms. The Pecking Order brand has a nasty chemical smell. Unfortunately, the Happy Hen mealworms were out of stock

Not nearly as good as the Happy Hen dried mealworms. The Pecking Order brand has a nasty chemical smell. Unfortunately, the Happy Hen mealworms were out of stock. I do not recommend the Pecking Order mealworms and will not buy them again. My chicken would not eat them, but she loves Happy Hen.

Great value

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the packaging has little airholes and when stored with my other feed ants got into it. Make sure you keep it in

Ducks are happy!!!

Meal worms are a two time a day treat for my ducks and chickens. I love it when they all eat out of my hands.

Chickens not crazy about it

bought these as a treat for the chickens, but they seem more interested in pecking at stones than the dried mealworms.
