This gets 3 stars because it does actually contain the smell because of the lid, the pedal-style opening works well, and it's stood up to several storms and not tipped or been compromised by water. But the actual design itself isn't great. The interior bucket has a handle to in theory be able to remove it from the overall trash can and carry it around to clean up the yard. Except the fact that the bags feed through the bottom means if you do that, it pulls up and unravels the whole roll or you have to rethread them every time. It's easier to just rip the bags apart and replenish individually. But also, the way the handle is attached to the inside rim of the bucket prevents you from being able to put the bag over the whole outside rim and still be able to use the handle. Either, you have to cover the handle to put the bag over the entire outside rim of the can, or you can't do that, which means it isn't fully secured and the bag will fall down in as you fill it. We're still going to use it since containing the poop smell was a top priority, but just figured I'd mention these logistical issues for other folks who might not think of it like we didn't.

I just received this can. Used it for two days and already maggots were growing in it. The lid didn’t form a tight seal allowing for gross bugs to get. They were all in the rim of it. This can is not going to work for me. I can’t figure out how to return on my account. Could only write a review.

This can is a really good idea, but the liner bags would be better if they were scented. After a day the smell is pretty offensive when tying up the liner bag to dispose of it.
