Are these refills compatible with the older style Genie pail system?

How do I know when it’s time to insert the new refill? And how do I remove the full bag to exchange for a refill?

The refill offers 28 feet of refill film that can last up to 4 months for one medium dog. The continuous film allows you to cut and tie it to any length. When the film runs out, simply tie the bag and dispose of it. You can also remove the base of the refill and swap it for a new one.

Does locking the container with the handle keep rain water from collecting in the inside of the pail?

The lid and handle are designed to prevent rain from entering the pail. While there are no gaskets, the unit is not fully waterproof, but the design offers a good level of protection.

Seriously no smell

We actually use the Pet Genie to throw in our bags of poop from walks or the backyard and store them until garbage day. We have just one small dog (17lb mini schnauzer)

We actually use the Pet Genie to throw in our bags of poop from walks or the backyard and store them until garbage day. We have just one small dog (17lb mini schnauzer) and it will hold probably about 2 weeks of poop. I was a little wary of the whole "refill" thing not being pre-cut bags to put in the Pet Genie, but it's actually really pretty smart and it has been easy to empty the system before it's completely full without wasting a bag. A little goes a long way and the starter refill lasted us a long time -- months -- before we needed to use a new refill. No smell at all, even when we open it to throw a bag in, hardly any smell.

Size and convenience of the carry handle

The design needs a bit more work. The opening into the storage area below is small and the door to open and close this is awkward and tends to want to stay open

The size, shape and carry handle are awesome. If they could replace the door on this unit with the door like the litter genie it would be a 5 star product and I would buy more.

This large unit lacks the stabilty of the prior Genie. The cutter is worthless, almost like no blade, and it becomes a struggle. I keep a scissors nearby, to save the hassle. The larger bag holds more, but also becomes heavy with two cats and a weekly change for trash day. I've started changing on Tuesday or Wednesday and that makes size and weight manageable. But the lack of a good cutter is very frustrating. The stability as one is changing out bags--it easily falls over, also something I'm having to adjust to. There's no other option for the security of this unit; however, had my original smaller unit not broken (the lid broke off)....I'd definitely still be using it..knowing what I now know for this larger one.

Storage solution

So far really enjoying having this in yard versus having a gross smelly trashcan. Took a few minutes to set up and I looked up a tutorial, but now it seems easy

So far really enjoying having this in yard versus having a gross smelly trashcan. Took a few minutes to set up and I looked up a tutorial, but now it seems easy. I do wish it was a larger container. It’s short in length. It takes a few times of practicing with the lid and lock.

I bought this in error

It was recommended to me that I buy this because I was going to have 3 dogs using it. My dogs, however, are dachshunds and just wouldn’t have filled this system

Easy to set up - no smell!
