While dogs are considered omnivores and cats carnivores, both are able to digest plants and utilize theirnutrients. 1 theory suggests that dogs and cats used to get greens in the wild when hunting smallergrass - eating prey, but lack this green nutrition in domesticated diets. To satisfy their attraction to greens, cats and dogs may be tempted to eat harmful houseplants or chemically - treated outside grasses. A safer, healthier solution is a container of fresh, nutritious, 100 percent certified organic Pet Greens® Live PetGrass®. You may choose to grow your own with Pet Greens® Garden self - grow wheat grass kits, orpurchase conveniently packaged Pet Greens® Treats made with organic wheat grass.
Wheat grass is packed with chlorophyll, carotene, antioxidant vitamins and minerals and othernutrients know to support development of healthy blood and muscle tissue. Wheat grass provides a safealternative to potentially harmful household plants and chemically - treated outside grasses. No. Wheat grass is a leafy green vegetable harvested before it developsthe gluten - forming grain.
Pets love wheat grass and may devour it quickly, but they should only ingest a small amount of thisnutrient-rich treat at a time. Rabbits, guinea pigs, or other smaller animals should be servedwheat grass in moderation. Give small clippings per serving or remove the wheat grass after a fewnibbles. Consult a veterinarian for advice on proper feeding amounts for each of your pets.
Many pets eat wheat grass straight from the container. However, some cats and dogs may not know howtasty these greens can be at first glance. If your cat or dog doesn’t take to wheat grass right away, trymisting it with water. Your cat or dog will lick the water and realize the greens are a tasty treat. If waterdoesn’t work, try adding clippings to your pet’s food. Pet Greens® Treats can also serve as a great way tointroduce pets to the delicious green nutrients found in wheat grass. Your veterinarian may have otherhelpful suggestions for introducing wheat grass to your pets.
Catnip contains a natural substance, called Nepetalactone, which triggers a euphoric, mood enhancingresponse in the brain. For most cats, catnip also stimulates exercise. Studies have shown that a smallpercentage of cats may not react to catnip because they do not carry an inherited “catnip gene.” Thecatnip gene becomes active when a kitten is about 6 - 8 weeks old; however, most cats experience thegreatest benefits from catnip when they have matured to 9 months.
Yes. Experts say that catnip is not at all toxic or addictive in any amount. Nepetalactone, the naturalsubstance found in catnip that triggers the euphoric response and /or increased activity, never actuallyenters the bloodstream, so there's no danger to your pet.
I hadn't ordered these in quite a while as my cats had grown tired of them (every cat owners struggle, lol). I crossed my fingers when I put these out at treat time, and breathed a sigh of relief when they all got eaten. I only gave 4 stars just because these weren't eaten with gusto like their favorite treats, but they were eaten and out of 5 cats only one got left on the floor. (Nothing goes to waste here though as I care for a feral colony who gets the leftovers, plus a gaggle of magpies who pick up what's left). I would recommend these to others.
Our cats and our dogs love these treats. They are small enough so the cats can chew them easily
I like these but while both cats Chase these and get excited, only one will eat them.
My cats love them. As soon as I go to drawer my cats run immediately to me.
8 of my cats love these treats. I like that the bag is resealable so the treats stay moist.
It's definitely a weird smell maybe it's the grass it was made from but otherwise my cat loves it
My cats love this treat. I give them two or three each about an hour after they eat dinner.
One cat sniffed and backed away. The other cat struggled to chew one and spit it out. Seymour and Sophie say no to these treats.
It's like Kitty Crack ... lol. Simon just rolls and purrs stretching his paws out for more : ) YUMMY
Our two cats love these treats and especially enjoyed getting them in their stockings this Christmas. Highly recommend!
