We recently took in a feral cat that needed his front, right leg amputated. He found himself unable to properly groom in his new condition. He started letting us pet him right in time to catch the formation of 2 mats. We were able to cut them out, but a brush through with this brush once a week definately keeps our minds at ease in the fight against mating fur. Also, he really seems to make him happy.
This works amazingly well, but my cat won’t give me a chance to actually get a mat out. If she allowed me any time at all I could definitely help her out. For now I just get a little bit at a time.
I bought his rake for my senior Norwegian Forest cat, Sox. He is very healthy, but he just doesn't quite get it done in the grooming anymore. The regular brush just doesn't do the trick anymore either. I am amazed at how much hair this thing gets in just one stroke. I definitely recommend it.
The Pet Republique Dematting Rake is the best thing you can buy to remove loose dead hair from your dog. As you glade the brush down the dogs back it pulls out a ton of hair quickly and with ease. My dog loves it and the hair that collects on the brush is easily removed from blades by just shaking your wrist a few times and the hair just falls out with ease. No more using your fingers to pull the hair out. I recommend the rake to my parents and they said the same thing it is the best dog hair remover on the market.
my Akita has the true double coat and a urinary infection. you can see where this is going. I was nearly ready to shave some areas until I found this marvelous item. conditioners did nothing through all that fur and brushes were a joke. this product does NOT slip out of nor hurt your hands. best of all? it WORKS through those mats as if they did't exist.
This product deserves more than 5 stars! great durable quality! my dog gets lots of matts behind her ears which we normally end up cutting off...but first time we tried it it got right through all of them! such a good product!!!
This is amazing, finally something that gets the knots out of our big boy Rocky's coat, who has extra thick coat....not too much pressure is needed to do the job either, looks are deceiving, our kitty enjoys being groomed!
Each of my girls has a different textured coat, all long haired. My super floof orange Maple absolutely flipped out, loved getting raked. I really needed an assistant to catch all the peach undercoat flying everywhere but followed each stroke with a petting hand to grab it. My old frizzy Bitty is prone to mats now and she didn’t quite let me get near them with this yet, but liked it on her mane. My fuzzy bobtail has a very thin textured long coat so I used the side with more teeth for her. The wider side worked best for the floofier girls.
I'm staring at probably $150 worth of other grooming devices from the furminators to the classic shedding blades and none do what THIS tool does which is pull the Neverending supply of dirty undercoat off my GSD and demat a long, curly haired senior Himalayan cat. For the first time, my dog's fur feels soft and the cat didn't protest like a toddler getting her hair combed. In minutes, this tool detangled and removed an enormous amount of filthy, unnecessary undercoat (this picture is just what came off one side of a back leg). My dog and cat seem more comfortable too (its hot here!) and aren't chewing on themselves like they were (so maybe it's even relieving some of their allergy symptoms). So mo ey well spent and probably the last/only grooming tool I'll ever need.
I've been a groomer for several years and recently added one of these to my tool kit.. I wish I had done it long ago. It removes a lot of dead and loose hair and undercoat easily and with the right pressure, the dogs do not mind it one bit, no pulling. I'm ordering 3 more as gifts to clients.
