For the Catit flower fountain can I use regular or charcoal filter?

Does this filter work with the fresh & clear stainless steel top fountain? I can't seem to find filters for that fountain.

How long does a filter last

I tried these because they were out of my other ones and they were a little cheaper, so I thought it might be a good deal. But the other ones I would only need to

I tried these because they were out of my other ones and they were a little cheaper, so I thought it might be a good deal. But the other ones I would only need to change once a month, and these even after about 2 weeks, the water that my cats were drinking was disgusting, always. Dirty with lots of black chunks and slimy feeling.

These filters have always been good. Keep the water clean for a cat who loves to stick his paws in the fountain before drinking. This time the filter itself was so thick that water is struggling to go through so most of the water is going through the overflow and not through the filter. I hope that next go around they won't be like this because normally this is a pretty solid brand
