Directions for Mixing: Puppies that are up on their feet and lapping from a bowl may be introduced to Esbilac 2nd Step. Begin by offering it as a thin gruel. Determine the amount of Esbilac 2nd Step powder to be fed to the puppy at each feeding using the Feeding Guideline. Reconstitute powder by using 3 parts (a part is any measuring device, i.e. teaspoon, tablespoon or cup) liquid Esbilac or water to 1 part powder for the first few days. Offer only small amounts and remove the uneaten portion after no more than 20 minutes. Puppies should be fed 3 times per day. Weigh the puppies at least once a week to monitor weight gain and adequacy of feeding. As puppies grow decrease the amount of water mixed with powder until weaning food is an oatmeal consistency. Consult your veterinarians for additional advice.
Directions for Feeding: Esbilac 2nd Step should be lapped out of a bowl and not fed from a bottle. Esbilac 2nd Step has been formulated to meet the nutritional needs of young puppies being weaned from mother or bottle fed puppies progressing to solid foods. For best results, the product should be mixed with ready-to-feed liquid Esbilac or reconstituted powder Esbilac to give the consistency necessary to get good food consumption. If Esbilac is not available, water may be used. Fresh, clean water should always be available for drinking. It is recommended that Esbilac 2nd Step be fed until puppies are 7 or 8 weeks old when they can be fed commercial puppy or dog food as desired. All changes in diet should be made gradually over a period of one week.
Feeding Guidelines: Feed puppies three times per day

Transition Food
By Patrick on Jan 24, 2021
This is a great way to start transitioning your puppy . We first put it in a bowl so the puppy can learn to lap. Then we add it in to the food to soften the food up. We add less and less as the puppy can chew harder food.

Puppies Hate the Taste
By Marcia on Feb 5, 2021
Our four puppies absolutely hate the taste, and they'll eat just about anything. A waste of our money.

Cheaper here than anywhere else!
By Sydney on Aug 27, 2020
It was really difficult for my puppy to wean (I adopted him at 3 weeks old). All he wanted to do was drink this formula. Luckily, I was able to stock up on tons of this formula just in case, and fortunately, we were finally able to wean him off this formula. I would recommend!

Great Puppy Supplement
By Suki47 on Apr 10, 2020
I brought home a very small thin puppy. I started him on this food in addition to his regular puppy food. He loves this food and at 15 weeks still loves to have it for “dessert..!” No GI side effects and I believe it actually helped my guy keep his appetite when he had a vaccine reaction..this was the only thing he would eat for about 24 hrs.. His weight gain has been fantastic..he has filled out, gained weight and brought himself up to an appropriate weight range. His coat has gone from dry and dull to sleek and shiny! I have also used a good dog food with him so I can’t attribute his condition just to this supplement, but I truly believe it has helped enormously with his appetite and I highly I brought home a very small thin puppy. Great option for puppies
By shiningshiron7 on Jun 11, 2020
This is great for puppies especially for my toy Chihuahua, Chip, who is a reluctant eater. Before drinking this he would barely touch regular wet puppy food. Now he loves this as he gulps it down along with regular food.

Perfect for weaning puppies
By Nikkilee83 on Feb 13, 2020
This is perfect for weaning puppies. I put dry food on a large plate, sprinkled this on top, then added warm water and mixed with my hands. Puppies loved it and made for an easy transition from mom to food. My only complaint is that it doesnt come in a bigger size. My pit/mastiff mix only had 6 puppies and I was going through 2 cans a week using the recommended 5 scoops.
