This fountain features the following modes: Smart Mode allows the water to flow intermittently. Sterilization is in sync with the water pump's on/off cycle. Normal Mode allows the water to flow continuously. Sterilization is continuous for 3 hours, then switches to intermittent sterilization (the interval: 3 hours; sterilization duration: 1 hour). Sleep Mode allows you to customize the sleep period. The pump doesn't work during this period.

How often does the filter need to be changed?

Great when it works. Good luck keeping it working

Should be as simple as put the water in and let it run - you think the app would be helpful but it just makes it worse. Forgot your phone upstairs? Gotta go get it to turn on the water. Got a second replacement and that one stopped working within weeks as well

Kitty loves it and drinks more water now than she ever has. It’s quiet and easy to clean*. * This fountain you can completely disassemble and I mean completely. I saw a review that says it leaks out the bottom over time and I was curious, fully prepared to buy another one if I broke it, I unscrewed the four screws on the bottom and you can separate the stainless steel inside from the plastic body, the bottom gray thing where the pump sits pops out and there’s a seal. If water gets under that seal it will leak. Allow it to all dry out and it will be as good as new. With that said, don’t immerse the entire body in water. Just wipe the inside out. The bottom also has holes that water will get in if you immerse it. My fountain still works so I didn’t break it. yay!

The pump doesn’t work; it keeps saying there’s no water when it’s full, less than 2 months from ordering. I reached out to PETKIT and they said since I didn’t buy it directly from them they can’t help. Luckily Chewy has agreed to replace it, but it feels pretty ridiculous that the company who produces the (fairly expensive) product won’t help fix things when they don’t work as advertised!

Not very useful

i thought the plate would be ceramic but it is plastic. There is not a lot of drnking room and is quite flat. I thought my dog would drink out of more and she drinks

It would be fine if my cat wasn’t weird.

My cats like to pee on the side of the litter box, which means they sometimes pee where the sphere comes together, and then pee leaks into the gear mechanism. So

So far it hasn’t affected the functionality but I’m sure it will eventually. I’ve had to use tape over the seem to try to mitigate the issue, which works for the most part. Other than that, it frequently doesn’t go into the “add litter mode” so it needs to be unplugged, to reset, or else it will assume there is a cat inside. I appreciate the fact that I don’t have to scoop litter daily, and that it fits in a relatively small space, but the amount of fiddling that goes into it is rather annoying.

Unreliable Water Level Senser

There’s a lot to like about this fountain. However, I’ve had it for just two weeks and after not long after cleaning it the second time the pump stopped working

There’s a lot to like about this fountain. However, I’ve had it for just two weeks and after not long after cleaning it the second time the pump stopped working because the sensor was telling it that the water level was low. (The water was almost at max)Aargh! I Googled what the problem might be. Tried different things. Finally, I took the pump apart again and put it back together. The pump started working! Yay! A couple hours later it again stopped, saying the water level was low. Sigh. Several hours later, it started working again, and it still is. But now I can’t trust it to work. I got the old water bowl out and set it next to this fountain so water will be available when it decides to stop working. I’d rather it not have the water sensor. I can make sure it doesn’t run low. But a faulty sensor = an unreliable pump. I got a pack of filters. Once those run out I may toss this out. It depends on how much more grief this 2 week old pump gives me.

Broke within less than 2 weeks

Our kitties loved this fountain when it was working. However, just two days ago we found it not working although the lights were on. I cleaned it and then it worked

Our kitties loved this fountain when it was working. However, just two days ago we found it not working although the lights were on. I cleaned it and then it worked again for about one to two hours. The app was glitching before it officially stopped working. The lights are still not but no water is coming out :( Also, customer service for the brand has not returned my call or email. We will not purchasing this brand again!
