To make this playpen into a fence, simply un-clip the hinge clips and release the panels from one another.

Will the metal rust if left outdoors?

This play pen will eventually show wear and tear over prolonged use outdoors due to rain, snow, etc.

What do u put under exercise pen

In some situations, there is not a need to put anything under the pen, such as when using it outside. Some customer's may prefer to lay a potty pad inside the pen when it is used inside.

Needed a pen to keep our shepherd-collie mix dog confined while he recovers from his knee surgery. This has worked well as long as we remember to use the clips on both top and bottom of the enclosure. Eight panels makes it easy to fit into different spaces around the house, as well as fold up to move around.

I like the ease of set up. I thought it was a little flimsy and I don't like how the gate operates. I think it would be fine in a different situation, but for my use, it isn't sturdy enough. It was also set up outdoors for two days and had rust already forming in places. I put my dog's in it, while we were at a dog sporting event and one of my dog grabbed the panels and bent the metal. I like the MidWest brand better, but it wasn't available in the size I wanted. I will probably get a different exercise pen.

Flimsy

It's ok for light small animal, but for our dog even staked to the ground the wire bends easily when he leans against it and that makes it easy for the gate to pop
