I understand and agree with all of those who made mention of the size of the pill. (It's gigantic, and I jokingly call it a "horse pill.") However, it is the same size as the pills I received when my cat was released from the veterinary medical center that treats her for a number of ongoing serious issues, but the difference is that for the same number of pills Chewy charges less than 25 percent of what I was charged when we brought our Teensy home. And given all of the medications Teensy is on, that difference is extremely helpful. Once one finds a technique that works in terms of getting your pet to take the pill, and given that it's the same size pill I got initially, you can't beat the cost savings. (Personally, my spouse cradles Teensy on his lap while I open her mouth and throw/put the pill as far back as possible, following success getting her to swallow the pill with a small bit of beef baby food so that she associates swallowing the pill with a treat afterward. Sometime it takes two or three tries, but she always has gotten her twice a day pill.)

I tried this product after my vet prescribed a sweet, sticky gel potassium supplement that my cat hated. Calder is the most easy to treat cat i have ever had and if he fights taking something it’s really bad. I found this product on chewy and ordered it. My vet stalled prescribing it because it wasn’t from her pharmacy. I persisted and I am so glad I did because i put the medication in a pill pocket and he gobbles it up. Plus the literature that came with the pills was very informative. Thanks Chewy!

This did the trick!

My vet said my cat's potassium level is now normal after being way too low before starting this product.

These pills are massive, not sure how they are meant for a cat. I could break them up but then I would have to be pilling my cat multiple times a day every day and that's crappy. I'll be trying out the powder but he's a picky eater so hopefully it works!

I have a few cats that need to be on this supplement. I have no problem giving them to my cats. I use a pill crusher and crush it really well into powder and put it on the plate first then after I have mixed my cats wet food with water to make it nice and moist, I put the wet food on top of the potassium powder and mix it real good. I don't put a lot of wet food just to make sure my kitties lap it up. After they finish their first helping then I will give them more wet food to make sure they have eaten enough and are satisfied. Just because the pill is big doesn't matter. When you crush it with a pill crusher really well and mix it real well into the food, you should have no issue with your cat eating it. This method works for my cats. :)

Split it and pill pocket it.

The pils are large in disc form, but if you get a pill splinter, you can cut it in half and wrap it in a greenie pill pocket. The pill pockets are a game changer!

The pils are large in disc form, but if you get a pill splinter, you can cut it in half and wrap it in a greenie pill pocket. The pill pockets are a game changer! I use one pill pocket, half it and mold each half a greenie around the pill and literally put each half down towards the throat of my cat. If he was a “treat guy” then perhaps he would take it on his own.
