Too easy

I got this for my great Pyrenees, hoping to kill two birds with one stone. He hates having his nails clipped, and he needs something to keep him from being bored

I got this for my great Pyrenees, hoping to kill two birds with one stone. He hates having his nails clipped, and he needs something to keep him from being bored. After I showed him how to use his paw to open the doors, he decided that was too hard, and he just used his nose to push all the doors open and had all of the treats eaten within a minute.

I had bought another brand fro m WM but, without the guards my Boston had irritation on mouth and lips very quickly. I gave that one to a friends whose long faced Terrier screamed when his nails were trimmed. he likes it and narrow face ok. This Pets Know Best trimmer works for both short and long faced dogs, and short faced dogs NEED it.

Our Gizmo hates having his nails trimmed, so we got this toy just for that reason. First time trying, he figured it out using his nose but they the started to go to town on scratching. His nails were filed down!! Just wish we could do something for his back. We have clippers and nail trimmer but he can’t sit still. Great idea for busy body - Boston Terrier.

Not for smart dogs

In theory this would be a good item, but any dog that has a modicum of intelligence will figure out how to move the top pieces in less than 5 minutes and won't actually

A little too easy

My pet enjoys this, but he uses his nose more than his paws, rendering the nail file part I wanted largely not beneficial. It’s also very easy to move the pieces

Great concept but our JRT figure it out quickly and only needed to nudge it with his nose to open each compartment. Thus defeating the purpose of the file top as he doesn’t even need to use his paws to open. They are too loose so it moves very easily.

My dog is a terror filing his nails.... this was a bust! He used his nose & got the treats in just a minute.

They love it!

I got it for the emery board type covering to maybe help file their nails, but Clover is already too smart and uses her nose to push the little things around. Wilbur

I got it for the emery board type covering to maybe help file their nails, but Clover is already too smart and uses her nose to push the little things around. Wilbur (not pictured) does a little pushing but more moving the little coverings with his hands. Either way, they’re both entertained and that’s good enough for me!

One dog is very treat oriented but both will paw at this enthusiastically even though it is on the small size for over 40 lb dogs' snouts. It has held up even after being left in the living room and not been torn apart which is not a given at our home and not the case with removable lid treat puzzles. I suspect it needs to be used very frequently to have an impact claw length for pups the size of ours, but I am hoping it also makes them less sensitive to sensation as ours really hate toenail trims at the groomers.
