Description

The PetSafe Automatic Ball Launcher is an automatic fetching machine that can be used by dog and owner or just the dog. The automatic launcher features make independent play easy and fun, while multiple safety features protect people and pets. The launcher was designed with three motion sensors for optimal safety. A sensor located in the front keeps pets and people safe while walking in front of the launcher, while a sensor in the launch pocket keeps hands and snouts safe. There is an additional sensor to detect when a ball is in the launch pocket to initiate play. Another safety feature allows the dog to play for a full 15 minutes before going into a 15 minute rest mode so the dog does not overwork themselves. There are 6 angle and 9 distance settings to really mix up playtime or to create indoor and outdoor use. Play a short game of indoor fetch at 8 feet or go outside and stretch those legs at 30 feet. Different angles make it extra fun! Plug it in or use 6 D batteries for portable play. The PetSafe Automatic Ball Launcher is safe, fun and totally versatile! Two standard-sized tennis balls, power cord, training instructions and user manual included.

  • NOT FOR BALL CRAZED FUR CHILDREN

    By on

I ordered this to replace the ball launcher that Hurricane Harvey ate. VERY slow to launch ball, if your baby is especially fond of his ball you won't like this one, it keeps the ball for what seems like an eternity to a ball junkie like my dog, he was super frustrated after only a few minutes. It never launched the ball more than a few feet and it seemed like it was struggling to do that.

  • Ball Launcher

    By on

I purchased this ball thrower to replace an inexpensive pitching machine that only used hard plastic whiffle balls. My German Shepherd liked the pitching machine, but as the balls became out of round, the machine wouldn't pitch the balls, my dog would become impatient and knock the machine over in order to get at the ball. This Ball Launcher will easily launch an out of round ball (within reason). My dog will still knock it over if a ball doesn't launch, but I think I've found all of the whiffle balls and thrown them in the garbage. My dog still attempts to put her favorite things into the launcher in hopes that it will launch her favorite doll, a pig ear, her favorite pull rope, etc. She then I purchased this ball thrower to replace an inexpensive pitching machine that only used hard plastic whiffle balls. My dog still attempts to put her favorite things into the launcher in hopes that it will launch her favorite doll, a pig ear, her favorite pull rope, etc. She then stands in front of the launcher waiting for the toy to throw. The launcher will beep an alarm and let me know there's something in the launcher that shouldn't be there. She has also figured out how to knock this toy over, but, that's a training issue that I have to correct. The feature I like best about this launcher is the fact that it can be plugged into a standard electric outlet. There is an option to use batteries, but it's not limited to just battery power. I was replacing the batteries weekly in the pitching machine. The product is easy to train your dog to use, and even transitioning from a pitching machine to this ball launcher was a breeze once my dog figured out that it was still going to throw the ball. My dog is a German Shepherd and I purchased the large ball launcher that will take a common tennis ball. I don't know anything about the small ball launcher so this review is only based on my experience with a large launcher. We've been using it daily for over a month. Something is loose inside of the casing and makes a rattling noise when the launcher is moved. I'm pretty sure it's a dog treat that my dog dropped into it as there is a large gap between the housing and the launching arm mechanism. Again, no fault with the product, just a silly dog that wants to find out what can or can't be launched. I really like this product and so does my dog. It's a must have for dogs who enjoy fetching when their alpha has a shoulder injury. I highly recommend it for an active dog who cannot be exercised rigorously because their owner doesn't have the ability to throw. … more

  • Im hoping its a 5 star

    By on

Im gonna get this toy for my dog cuz i am impressed with the safety features it has that the others don't. My intentions are to train the dogs to accomodate the noise the toy makes with positive reinforcement. I will update this post in the near future.

This ball launcher broke after 5 months and the manufacturer was not helpful at all. Very frustrating since its not cheap.

  • My aussie loves it

    By on

I taught my dog to return the ball to the hopper so she can play by herself. Like another reviewer said the sound initially is a bit loud, but I counter conditioned my dog to it and she dances in anticipation now when she hears the launcher getting ready. I've used it indoors so far, I like the adjustability of the height/distance of the launch.

It did not work without being plugged in. Wanted it for the freedom but now limited by the cord

  • TOO NOISY SCARES THE DOGS

    By on

The wind up noise is frightening to all three of my dogs. Also very noisy when they try to drop the ball back in. The dogs won't even stand next to it when it is winding up. I suggest a way to make it much more quiet.

  • better only have one dog

    By on

this item may work if you only have one dog, it definitely does not work when you have multiple. ill be sending my thrower back for a refund. the balls do not come out nearly as far as stated. not a fan of this at all and was hoping it would keep my lab and jack russell busy.
