Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.
When playtime is over, turn the Ball Launcher off and store it safely away. Do not submerge the Ball Launcher in water. Wipe down with damp cloth to clean. Do not use in the rain or snow. Do not pour water into the machine. To clean ball sensor in the ball pocket, turn power off, then use a cotton swab or old toothbrush to wipe the motions sensors clean. Do not place your hand inside the launch pocket. Do not leave outside in the weather elements.
No more than three at a time. It is recommended to load one at a time for use during independant play, or when launching on higher settings.
Standard tennis balls are 2 5/8" diameter.
There are 9 distance settings and 6 angle settings. Depending on which settings you use, the Ball Launcher will shoot the balls up to 30 feet and between 20°-45°.
Yes! The Ball Launcher is specifically designed to be used indoors and outdoors with multiple distance and angle settings.
If the dog is capable of picking up a standard tennis ball and dropping it into the machine, they should be able to use the Ball Launcher. The hopper is 11" from the ground.
There is no limit to how many dogs can use the Ball Launcher at one time, however, the game of fetch may be more enjoyable with 3 or less dogs playing at once.
The motion sensor detects movement from up to 7 feet away. Your dog should be standing behind that distance or to the side of the launch pocket area, out of view of the motion sensor.
No, however, the Ball Launcher will go to sleep after 15 minutes of play. It will then rest for 15 minutes and cycle through another 15 minutes. This continues until the power button is turned off.
Fortunately, the Ball Launcher is equipped with safety settings that prevent a dog from overworking themselves. The machine will play for 15 minutes, then rest for 15 minutes.
This thing is not worth the money. I have a mid sized golden doodle who loves ball. This thing maybe throws it 15ft with fresh batteries or plugged up to a power source.
My dog didn't Like the big pop when the ball is thrown. She has not returned the ball for the past 4 days.
Built like junk. Only launched balls about 10 feet on maximum setting. That's when it actually worked. Only lasted about 2 weeks. Another fine piece of JUNK from China
This PetSafe Automatic Ball launcher is just an expensive toy. It barely launches the ball across an indoor room. Not built for a real Outdoor Dog!!!
I was excited to buy this for my dog that loves to fetch. A friend had a similar one and her dogs loved it. Unfortunately, my dog is scared to death of this thing! As soon as I put this out and turn it on, my dog runs upstairs and hides. Seems like it is made of quality material. However, it seems like it should come from the factory on the lowest settings not the highest. I think initially using on the factory settings is what scared my dog.
1. Have a 88 lb lab, not afraid of anything. Launcher gives an abrupt noise and it scares a dog not afraid of a commercial lawn mower, weed eater or leaf blower. Not scared of noises until this thing. Won't get near it. 2. Only throws the ball about 10 ft high and 20ft away on highest setting. Disappointed and returning it after 10 mins of use. (Comes with AC power adapter and was plugged in) I don't recommend it.
Unit came, box had been opened and resealed with a sticker. Still could see the cut in the box where the last person used too long of a knife to open the outer box. Had scratches all over it and was missing balls. As for the product itself. It works, but it's really loud. Both the beeps before it launches and the launch itself. Gonna take a while for the dog to get used to it, if ever.
My dog loved this thrower It did good but only lasted a few months
Title says it all this product was purchased in September and it's currently the beginning of March it didn't even last a year. In theory this machine is nice. The hardest part will be training your dog to use it properly. Only took me about 2 weeks to reach my Shepard how to use the ball launcher. The launcher will throw the ball pretty far and high but di not last. I would say my dog used this every day for about 45 minutes. So if your dog is energetic and wants to play everyday this product is not for them. I will add there is a one year warranty. I do not know however if they are going to honor it I will be contacting the company and give an update.
Has to be plugged it. I put batteries in it and it wouldn’t work unless plugged in. The sensor did work very well some times it wouldn’t throw even when my dog was behind it
