Description

The PetSafe Automatic Ball Launcher is an automatic fetching machine that can be used by dog and owner or just the dog. The automatic launcher features make independent play easy and fun, while multiple safety features protect people and pets. The launcher was designed with three motion sensors for optimal safety. A sensor located in the front keeps pets and people safe while walking in front of the launcher, while a sensor in the launch pocket keeps hands and snouts safe. There is an additional sensor to detect when a ball is in the launch pocket to initiate play. Another safety feature allows the dog to play for a full 15 minutes before going into a 15 minute rest mode so the dog does not overwork themselves. There are 6 angle and 9 distance settings to really mix up playtime or to create indoor and outdoor use. Play a short game of indoor fetch at 8 feet or go outside and stretch those legs at 30 feet. Different angles make it extra fun! Plug it in or use 6 D batteries for portable play. The PetSafe Automatic Ball Launcher is safe, fun and totally versatile! Two standard-sized tennis balls, power cord, training instructions and user manual included.

Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.

FAQ

How many balls can be loaded into the hopper at once?

No more than three at a time. It is recommended to load one at a time for use during independant play, or when launching on higher settings.

How big are the tennis balls?

Standard tennis balls are 2 5/8" diameter.

How far does the launcher shoot the balls and at what angle?

There are 9 distance settings and 6 angle settings. Depending on which settings you use, the Ball Launcher will shoot the balls up to 30 feet and between 20°-45°.

Can I use the Ball Launcher indoors and outdoors?

Yes! The Ball Launcher is specifically designed to be used indoors and outdoors with multiple distance and angle settings.

What sizes of dog can use the machine?

If the dog is capable of picking up a standard tennis ball and dropping it into the machine, they should be able to use the Ball Launcher. The hopper is 11" from the ground.

How many dogs can use the Ball Launcher at once?

There is no limit to how many dogs can use the Ball Launcher at one time, however, the game of fetch may be more enjoyable with 3 or less dogs playing at once.

How far should my dog stand back from the machine before the ball launches?

The motion sensor detects movement from up to 7 feet away. Your dog should be standing behind that distance or to the side of the launch pocket area, out of view of the motion sensor.

Will the Ball Launcher turn off automatically?

No, however, the Ball Launcher will go to sleep after 15 minutes of play. It will then rest for 15 minutes and cycle through another 15 minutes. This continues until the power button is turned off.

Will my dog know when to stop playing and take a break?

Fortunately, the Ball Launcher is equipped with safety settings that prevent a dog from overworking themselves. The machine will play for 15 minutes, then rest for 15 minutes.

By Huck on May 26, 2021

Has to be plugged it. I put batteries in it and it wouldn’t work unless plugged in. The sensor did work very well some times it wouldn’t throw even when my dog was behind it

    Didn't even last a year.

By Brisket on Mar 4, 2021

Title says it all this product was purchased in September and it's currently the beginning of March it didn't even last a year. In theory this machine is nice. The hardest part will be training your dog to use it properly. Only took me about 2 weeks to reach my Shepard how to use the ball launcher. The launcher will throw the ball pretty far and high but di not last. I would say my dog used this every day for about 45 minutes. So if your dog is energetic and wants to play everyday this product is not for them. I will add there is a one year warranty. I do not know however if they are going to honor it I will be contacting the company and give an update.

The idea is good, the product is cheap.

By Andres on Mar 17, 2021

I like the idea of having something that will throw my dog a ball every time she wants. I just think that this product is very poor in terms of materials used and programming. It is definitely a product that should cost at the most $50.

    It's a good concept... But...

By Goldenretrieverman on Jan 3, 2021

This thing has a standby mode, but it turns off after like 15 minutes no matter what. Its timer turns it off after 15 minutes to prevent the dog from getting too tired. My dog got probably 4 tosses out of it. (We were learning.) so we honestly, unplugged it, and put it back in the box. It's a loud launch. And the sensor is too sensitive. Oh, did I mention that it has a motion sensor so if your dog is waiting to the side of the launcher, it will not launch. Also, it launches so loudly, and it turns a little bit every time it shoots the ball. Also, it isn't waterproof. Who makes an outside toy that isn't waterproof? 2 stars. Feed tray came loose after a few throws.

By Ball on Mar 7, 2021

Feed tray came loose after a few throws. Complete disassembly to snap it back in. Feed tray Constantly pops loose and blocks throwing arm. Dog absolutely loved it for about 10 minutes.

    Only 50 percent great.

    By Badmike6 on Feb 5, 2021

Plugged into an electrical outlet the machine works well. In fact, my lab is addicted to it. When she goes outside, she stands in front of the machine waiting for a ball to come flying out. I would like to take it to the dog park but found it does not work on fresh batteries. Too bad.

ugh.. wish my dog could get the hang of it

By heather on Jan 22, 2021

I’m not sure if I can return this, but the concept is great, but it makes noises before launching and my dog attacks it thinking it’s time for the ball. And I wanted it mostly for when she is home alone and bored but it only stays on 15 min times. Wouldn’t recommend for the price!

    Don't waste your money.

By unsatisfied on Jan 26, 2021

This is a waste of money. It barely throws the ball not even 5 feet. My dog looked at me waiting for something to be "thrown" out for her to chase. It is very loud when it kicks the ball out and scares my dog when it does.

    Do not buy

By Broken on Nov 20, 2020

I am extremely beyond words extremely disappointed with the ball launcher that I bought. I bought this it’s pet safe however it would be pet safe if it actually threw the ball. The light continues to flash no matter what I do and all attempts. I got this delivered yesterday I read the instructions write it out today and within five minutes the piece broke And I am no longer able to even get a light go on I’ve cleaned it wiped it out like they say it’s on my back yard all undercover however that red light show likes to stay on which means it’s not working I am so disappointed that I may disregard any further purchases from your company and it’s not right to do this to people I did not buy the I am extremely beyond words extremely disappointed with the ball launcher that I bought. Great machine but extremely loud

By Bonnie on Nov 25, 2020

My dog loves to play catch so I thought this would be a wonderful way to keep her entertained. The machine functionality is great but extremely loud. My dog was terrified of the noise and would not go near it.
