PetSafe Basic Dog Remote Trainer, Dark Navy, 10 to 22-in neck, 3/4-in wide

This is an ok training collar. Training collars are very straightforward but this one's a little weird. The display shows the tone, vibration and static icons but there's also two icons down the bottom for dog 1 and dog 2 but there's no mentioning of it in the instructions. There's also another icon that looks like it should be something for brightness of the display but there's nothing about it in the instructions either so I have no idea what it does. I normally only use the tone or vibration for my dogs. The vibration is decent but the tone ended up scaring my dog cause it's a weird pitch. I tested a few of the static settings on my hand just to see what they felt like. I had to hold the collar very tightly in my hand otherwise I could hardly feel it. I stopped at level 4 because it was uncomfortable. The one thing I really don't like is it doesn't have a dual charger. All other collars I've ever had you were able to charge the remote and collar at the same time. They both take 2 hours to charge so you have to wait 4 hours before you can actually use it. The charging cable doesn't come with a plug either, it's just has the USB on the one side and a magnetic piece on the other end that attaches to the collar or remote. If you don't have an extra plug to spare you'll have to use your laptop to charge it. There's definitely room for improvement with this collar.

I have used different products over the years from PetSafe. I have never had any compliant or problem with any of them. I have been using a wireless fence for my two Berndoodles for 5 years and it is still being used today. I like this remote trainer and use it with one of my Yorkies who tends to be a little hard headed when she is called. The hand held piece is easy and comfortable to hold. I never have to use a strong signal, just the tone. It works great. My only compliant is it was difficult to get out of the box. That must be some kin of glue!

I used this with my German Shepherd for minor corrections during off leash training. The collar is super easy to adjust and you can get it to the prefect size. The remote is super easy to use and super user friendly. The collar has a great vibration that gets the dog’s attention without being too harsh.
