Where is the padding on this model? Is it on all straps? And is it's intent to minimize chafing?

This harness features neoprene lined straps on all straps.

Where does the buckle snap? My pup's current harness snaps behind her shoulder. One little hop and she can slide her shoulder and leg right out! If we tighten it, we won't be able to snap it around her, she has rather broad shoulders.

This harness features two clasps that snap on the same side of the harness. Please see image below for reference.

Our dog can't have anything that puts pressure on her throat. Does this harness get close to the throat area?

When sized and fitter properly this harness should go across the front of the chest and around the girth of the chest behind the from legs. See attached picture for visual.

To select the best size we recommend that you measure your dog's chest girth (circumference) and chest width. To measure the chest girth you'll measure around the broadest part of the rib-cage behind the front legs and to measure for the width you'll measure across the front chest, to approximately 1 inch behind the front legs. If the dog happens to be in between sizes it's then recommended to select the bigger size. The Small fits a chest width of 8.5-11 inches with a girth of 15-20 inches. The Medium fits a chest width of 12-15 inches with a girth of 20-28 inches. The Medium/Large fits a chest width of 14-18 inches with a girth of 25-35 inches. The Large fits a chest width of 16-21 inches with a girth of 26-36 inches.

Large is too large, Medium is too small.

Would give 5 stars were it not for the fact that on my 75 lb. female Lab, the Large is too large even when the adjustments are pulled as tight as they will go, and

Own and operate a dog hiking, boarding, daycare center. In 20 years this is the best tool I have found to maintain control of even the largest of breed without any neck stimulation or trauma. All of the dogs in my hiking packs wear these harnesses. They are an absolutely invaluable tool in my line of work.

Wish this worked for us. My dog was walking very nicely but then became afraid of this harness. Upon assessment, found a wound on his armpit from chafing. :(

We’ve been using these harnesses for 10 years and they are the only brand we will use as I can stop the pulling by my (3) 125 pound bloodhounds the harness can be mounted as a top or front attachment for the leash I prefer to have the connection in the front for more control as opposed to the top the harness is easy on easy off & durable and machine washable gentle cycle and air dry.

My Boston-Rat has a big backyard but when he visits his grandparents needs to be walked. It was tough training him to not pull since walks weren't consistent. I got this harness as a recommendation from Embark for his type of bread. This harness has been great at keeping him at our walking pace instead of trying to pull to get ahead. The clasp for the leash being on his chest makes a world of difference. He can get his sniffs in and we have a nice walk without being pulled behind him. He really likes it over other types of harness as well. Once you've gotten it perfectly adjusted, it's very easy to put on. We unclasp the shoulder and he just walks into it, we pull it up and reclasp. He was in-between small and medium, so we got him a medium that has to be tightened all the way.

My dog has a different kind of pulling problem. He’s fearful and when you pull on the leash - even gently - and it’s behind his head, he freaks out. This harness is perfect. First of all it fits perfectly and he is obviously super comfortable in it. He slipped it on immediately and wore it around the house like it was nothing. (This is a big deal.) Then, when I clipped the leash on there was no fuss and no freak out. No problems on the walk. It’s a game changer. I couldn’t be more pleased.
