Can you remove the bowls to wash them?

Can this be used for canned cat food?

This feeder is recommended for dry or semi-moist food. It is not recommended to leave wet or canned pet food sitting out for longer than 1-2 hours at room temperature, so this feeder would not be ideal since it does not keep wet food at food-safe temperatures.

Can I plug this in the wall or does it just use batteries

This requires 4 D-cell alkaline batteries and does not plug into to be powered.

Do I have to hit the advance button every time I refill it? Or just refill and close?

When refilling this feeder, simply refill the bowl and it will continue on the same schedule until it is changed.

Not what I was expecting

I thought I was ordering an auto feeder that would allow me to chill my cat's wet food so it didn't go bad in the feeder; if this feeder does have that capability

I thought I was ordering an auto feeder that would allow me to chill my cat's wet food so it didn't go bad in the feeder; if this feeder does have that capability it only allows room for an ice pack on the feeder bowl that's open which is useless as the food is stored in the closed portion. I want to return it, it is useless to me.

The food keeps fine, and allows the cats to eat early and us to sleep in. We are impressed at the quality these feeders had 10 years ago, hopefully that is still true! Would purchase again if needed. : )

Broke first day

Cheap plastic and the flimsy latch broke on the first day. Didn’t do anything so risky just opened it to fill it with food. Avoid.

Works great the way we use it

We have to sequester Bongo in a spacious basement room overnight since he howls at 3 a.m. He has a window with a cat tower and a comfy K&H heated bed (from Chewy)

We have to sequester Bongo in a spacious basement room overnight since he howls at 3 a.m. He has a window with a cat tower and a comfy K&H heated bed (from Chewy). We lure him in at 11 pm, putting a small portion of Calm dry food in the open compartment. We open up the cover and add a feeding into the next compartment which opens at 3 a.m. Keeps him quiet until 8.

We bought this cat feeder (5 meal) for our 9 month old kitty as he liked to wake us at the crack of dawn and then ate too quickly. It was set to feed him at regular intervals every day, and it held up for his entire life -18 years! It of course got a bit dinged up and scratched at, but the tray, clock, and spin mechanism are still going strong.

This is my second buy, the first one lasted 4 years. Even trying to clean out the sensors didn't fix it, but I like it for dispensing treats in between meals when

This is my second buy, the first one lasted 4 years. Even trying to clean out the sensors didn't fix it, but I like it for dispensing treats in between meals when I'm not home. I use this for my dog. Cats may not mind sharing, but my dog would lose it if another touched his cookie dispenser.
