We bought two seven years ago so we could leave for a long weekend with our cats still getting regular kibble feedings. Overall, these are great quality for the price.
One feeder is still kicking after seven years, and the other had to be replaced after 3.5. The battery life is long, and they are easy to set. Plus, the cats had no problems adapting to them.
My only complaint is the clocks get out of synch every other month or so, meaning one feeder will go off before the other. Occasionally this has led to some issues with our alpha cat trying to eat both meals, but it’s an easy fix to get them back on the same time.
I would definitely recommend!

This automatic feeder works very well. It's stable and fairly quiet when it turns to the next meal so it doesn't scare the cats. The batteries operate it for a long time, nearly a year. It's reasonably priced compared to others and is one of the smallest ones out there, which is important for small spaces. Most importantly, it's one of only a few that can be used with canned food. The feeder is a lifesaver when your cats want to eat at 4am! But be prepared to observe cute cat behavior when they sit on top of the feeder waiting for it to go off :-)
Great when it works, broke twice in one year

This is a fine automatic feeder but mine broke within the first year of buying it (just kept spinning and spinning), so I called the company and they sent me a new one for free. That one broke (electronic component kept turning off and cancelling schedule) within 2 months. I've since got the Cat Mate feeder and so far like that one a lot better anyhow; fingers crossed it doesn't also break.

I've only been using it a week, but it seems to work well. It is heavy with the batteries in it, which is good because dogs and cats won't push it around, but it is hard to lift to a surface to fill it. It doesn't seem to have an "off" switch. The instructions say to take the batteries out if you want to turn it off, which seems rather archaic, but whatever. You can "suspend" feeding without losing your programmed times, so I guess that's like turning it off. So far, so good.
Ok Product - Would not recommend

You can't turn these off without taking out the batteries. And they only take batteries, vs. electricity. If you take out the batteries, you have to reprogram them. We have two cats, and it was impossible to time the machines to work at the same time.

This is a versatile feeder...you can establish multiple feeding times per day or just one per day to cover an extended owner absence. I found that ants may discover it if outdoors or in a garage area, so I elevated it onto some spare ceramic tiles set in a pizza pan full of water... ant moat. Works like a charm. Our cat adapted to it very quickly and sprints for the feeder when she hears the motor turn. Nice, sturdy product. Recommend it.
Saved My Sanity

I love this feeder! My cat meowed at me at all hours for food before I used it, and it has seriously cut down his food-driven vocalization. Was worried he might break into it, but he hasn't, leaves the feeder alone until it portions food out to him twice a day. Was easy to program, and makes a little whirring noise when the food comes that my cat associates with food. You can really only put four meals in at a time, unless you're filling it right when they eat (wouldn't recommend, I still don't want my cat understanding that there's more food hidden in there) but I don't mind that, as I get two days of meals out of it. Great product!
Works well but prefer Cat Mate C500

While this feeder works well, it has some downfalls. The display is under the lid which I find annoying. Large in size. A little harder to program over the Cat Mate. I do like that the lid does not come completely off (swings up).
Low Profile Feeder

This is our second feeder; the first was about 2-years old when the electronics in the original were 'broken' while being transported in the car. Only low-profile multi-day feeder that we are aware of. Conveniently slides under low table to stay out of the way. Reasonable price. Feeds 4 meals on multi-timer; can be several meals per day or once daily. The program directions are tricky to learn but once understood, it is easy to program/change programs/suspend program. Runs for a year on 4 D-Cell batteries. Makes a "loud" noise & "whir" when rotating -- which lets the cat know its breakfast....and she never needs to wake us to get fed. We use dry food only; could also use wet/canned food if inThis is our second feeder; the first was about 2-years old when the electronics in the original were 'broken' while being transported in the car. Have tried other types of feeders after we broke our first of these & returned them all. This seems to be the most reliable & convenient on the market for short-term feeding.… more
Defective, motor doesn't turn the hub.
on Apr 30, 2020
Didn't get around to opening this for a month so I am probably outside the return window. This morning I finally got around to programming it, which was actually easier than expected. But the hub doesn't turn, even using the manual advance button. The little motor inside makes a sick little humming sound and that is all. Disappointed.
