So Useful
We just rescued two Golden Retrieves and needed something to help get them in/out of the car. So glad we got the steps! Made our first road trip with the girls much easier. Wish I had them years ago for my past dogs.
Great product
This is a great sturdy product but does not work on my jeep Cherokee because the highest step is still about 15 inches below the cargo back of the jeep. My hitch is lower to ground so the first step is only a few inches off the ground. Measure carefully before you buy. I am very disappointed.
and SUV-must-have!
One of my pups had to get all 4 dew claws removed while he was getting "fixed". His dew claws were crazy long and had caused some issues for him. I decided to get some steps for the back of my Jeep to make it easier for him to get up and down so that he didn't have to jump or get picked up. My pups love the steps! It makes getting in and out of the Jeep so much easier, even more so now that it's winter w/ snow and ice on the ground. The fact that I can fold them up and just leave them on the jeep makes things a lot easier as you don't have to stow any ramp or stair system inside the vehicle.
Great investment!
We have used these stairs for years! My (100+ pound) old dog is so thankful that he can still get in the car for rides & this product has made it possible. We live in the country, down a dirt road that has many a pothole. Sometimes we're forgetful & don't fold them up while the vehicle is in motion. They've scraped pavement & backed in to things, but they're still going strong!
Not what I hoped for but better than what I could find elsewhere.
I was so excited about this delivery for my new mastiff pup. It calls for a 2-inch hitch, but my Subaru Outback had a 1 1/4 inch, I purchased an adapter not sold here. That required some custom work, nip tuck to shorten the adapter. Presto change-o worked like magic, but what I discovered was the steps are not solid, there is wiggle in the step unit, which makes my dog a little nervous, and the gap between the top step and the bed of the cargo is still something to navigate, I am hoping we can train around it. For a young dog full of excitement, it will be challenging. I think this was a GREAT concept and could not find anything comparable.
Getting comfortable with it.
Got this for my four year old Border Collie. She has no problem jumping into our Suburban but I worry about an injury jumping out. Have to hold her collar and guide her but is learning. Have to fold it down to open hatch, takes seconds. Does not block backup camera much and mine has learned it is permanent and does not sound the alarm anymore. Got a locking hitch pin as added security from theft.
Solid, "Terrifying", and slightly Annoying
We've tried a ramp (unsuccessfully) and moved to stairs thinking our aging dogs would appreciate the help getting into our VW Atlas. Unfortunately, neither of them are comfortable with it and fear using the steps. It's easy to assemble and install, the biggest downside is if you have a newer vehicle your backup alarm is going to constantly go off any time you're in reverse. That was enough for my wife and I to decide this isn't the solution for us.
Amazing shipping
We ordered this for my mother-in-law for Christmas late assuming it would not be here until after. It was delivered in three days! (what?) On top of that the thing is really sturdy and can even be used by my mother-in-law to get in her expedition (she's 5'2" but its really for her golden)
Does not work for Jeep Wrangler
Had to return this to Chewy. It does not work for a Jeep Wrangler.
Nice, but not for vans
This step is really nice, but it's not for low riding vans. It sits too low to use. This arrived very fast, but unfortunately will have to send it back.
