Description

If your kitty likes to pounce on your moving vacuum cleaner, he's going to love the Laser Tail cat toy by PetSafe. When activated, this futuristic-looking device begins to move around your floor, a laser "tail" following close behind. As the base moves, the laser moves in a different direction, working to puzzle your cat. He'll love stalking and pouncing as his "prey" moves in fun, unpredictable patterns and you'll love that his mind and his paws are staying active. But don't worry—the Laser Tail will automatically turn off after 10 minutes to keep him from getting overwhelmed. When it's time for more fun, simply press the button on the bottom and let the games begin again!

    Solidly Alright

My cat loves laser pointers and will play as long as you're willing to push a button down. I looked at a few automated laser pointers on Chewy and I was the most hopeful about this one since it would move around. While it moves pretty easily on carpet and hardwood, it honestly moves way too quickly for my cat to really get the chance to bounce on the laser. She honestly has trouble finding the laser at times because it moves so fast and so far from the initial point. It also can move QUITE a distance, so keep an eye on it. It took a nosedive down our staircase after making its way across almost two rooms. It definitely gets points for holding up even after the tumble. Overall, not a bad toy, My cat loves laser pointers and will play as long as you're willing to push a button down. Overall, not a bad toy, but I think the speed of the toy makes it hard for the cats to really effectively engage with this as a laser pointer. I'll have to continue on my quest for an automatic laser pointer. … more

    Rip off! Do NOT buy

    By on

I got one of these thinking it’d be a great way for my cat to play while I worked from home on my laptop. ...think again. For starters, it’s LOUD. It makes more noise moving around than my washer and dryer make when they’re turned on! It also goes WAY too fast for the cat to stay interested bc it doesn’t even give him the chance to see the laser before jilting elsewhere. Its kinda like a roomba with its movements, but if it gets into a corner it just gets stuck and makes tons of noise......it’s awful. Don’t buy it. Waste of money. My cat hates the thing

    just too much going on

If it was stationary or less abrupt and not as fast I think it would be okay. But my cats are just too confused by its moving around they don’t even care about the laser. They’re kore afraid of it then anything

    Great Idea...

    By on

Love the idea of this toy, but the laser moves too fast to keep the cats interested for very long. They can’t follow the movements without losing the dot. On the bright side, one of my cats does like to chase the machine itself and wrestle it. (Word of caution- when the machine is wrestled to its back, long haired cat tails WILL get caught in the rotating wheels. Make sure you are supervising play!)

Not interesting enough to keep my boy occupied

    By on

I have 3 other laser kitty toys and am always looking for another one to help keep my active boy occupied. This product did not fit the bill and I am returning for refund.

    Kind of like it

The sound it makes while moving around is distracting to the cats (yes two cats) I was quite surprised along with the cats. Once they adjusted to that, things improved. Next, it moves too fast. Always moving back and forth, spinning, backing up moving forward, not knowing what this little machine is going to do next is more distracting than the red light. The red light...too much going on to be noticing the little red light....then finally noticing the light BUT the red spot they chase should be bigger. Very small, ever moving red light. Purchased to perhaps ware them out before bed, or distract them when they seem to be 'picking' on each other. The later has been successful. Glad it has a 15 min timer on it, allows me to just let it go. BEST USED IN A DARK ROOM! We are in bed...kitties want to pick on each other and run around, on and over bed...put it in living room in the dark and it was enough to distract them....but I could hear it 'doing it's thing' … more

Too bad this didn't vacuum but this is not a toy. My girls were so distracted by the noise they just wouldn't give it a try.

Noisy, fast, spastic movements. My cats don’t enjoy this one. It does what it’s supposed to though

    Okay, doesn't work well

It will only go backwards, and the way the laser is pointed it will only show a red line rather than a red dot. My cat lost interest quick

    Great on carpet and hardwood!

    By on

My cats LOVE this. Works great on carpet and hardwood, but gets stuck on the edge of thick rug and hardwood... :-/ you won’t be disappointed, nor will your kitties. When I turn it on, they come out and start looking for it... haha! WIN!
