Can this be used on cats?

This pet barrier is for indoor use with dogs and cats 5 pounds and up.
The barrier has the option to set from A and B but is there any way to set a collar to A and B? If not why is that an option on the barrier?

The barrier units have two channels which they can be set to, or a combination of both of these. Each barrier unit has an A, B, and AB setting which each collar can then be paired to, so that you can set up multiple barriers in anyway you choose. For example, one barrier can be set to A and set in one location, and the other set to B and set in a different location; if you have multiple pets, one of their collars could then be paired up with the A (or AB) signal and the other can be paired to the B signal.
I am looking for an item that will prevent my 45lb dog from bolting out the door. Will this item help? Can it attach to the wall with screws or sticky tabs?

The Pet Barrier is normally left in the area on the floor or counter top but should be able to attach to the wall with sticky tabs.
How far away does this device need to be from a dryer? My back sliding door has one of those installed dog doors inches away from the dryer and I don’t want my cat to go out the dog door.

This barrier transmitter should not be near large metal objects such as washers or refrigerators. Metal objects can alter the magnetic field and change the transmitting signal range. The effect on the range depends on the size and shape of the objects. Signal range can be reduced if the Barrier Transmitter is placed on a concrete floor, due to steel reinforcement in the concrete. For best range results, place the Barrier Transmitter on a nonconductive surface, i.e., wood floor or table. Placing the Barrier Transmitter beneath sofas and beds can reduce the range due to the metal springs altering the magnetic field.

Wish there was a better alternative

Here’s the cycle: I buy this, it works great for 6 months or so, all of a sudden the collar stops working, I do a ton of research into alternatives and end up buying this again because there’s nothing else on the market that satisfies this need. Replacing the batteries don’t work, replacing the collar doesn’t work, I always end up having to buy the whole set over again. By now I swear this is an intentional design flaw. I’ve probably bought this set 4 or 5 times now and I wish there was another way to keep my cat out of his sister’s litter box but sadly here I go begrudgingly buying this again.

Unhappy with its

This item says for pets 5lb and up. It is way too big for a 5lb pet. And since it is too big, the prongs cannot touch skin, which makes it useless. I am very disappointed in this item.

I mean, it worked at one point..

It worked. On a 90lb bundle of stubborn goodness. For two months.. then it just quit. Replaced the batteries, got one beep out of it and it quit again.

Save your money!

The collar does not work. We tried it on the floor under our buffet table, on top of the buffet and near the fire place. My puppy never felt any shock and wad able to attack my kittens. Massively disappointed and curious about the positive reviews.

Didn't work. Very cheap parts.

My 15lb chihuahua mix walks right through the barrier zone! Even when I set the barrier at the furthest distance, he still walks right through. Plus, the collar strap is made of very cheap material. It is ridiculously long. So, I had to cut the strap, and the strap material just frayed! This unit needs a lot of improvements.

Waste of money

I had to replace the batteries as soon as I received it and the back would not go back on. So I had to put a peice of tape on the collar so it would work. But it shortly stopped working all together.

No Effect on Cat

Tried this collar with my cat and the only thing he seemed to be aware of was that the thing beeps when he get close. Waste of money.

did not work

Unfortunately this product did not work on my cat. It was too big and required to be cut down to fit. Even after trying to get it to fit on my cat, it did not deter her from coming near the dog door and make an escape. I tried the product out and yes it does emit a small current, but it is not strong enough to go thru the fur. I am not planning to shave my cats neck so it will not work for me.
