Is the Receiver Collar waterproof?
Yes.
Will the PetSafe Stay + Play Wireless Fence® system cover a larger circle than 210 feet across?
You can use another Wireless Transmitter with overlapping boundaries of at least 5-10 feet to increase the size of the Pet Area.
Will a sloping yard or hills affect the Pet Area?
The Transmitter signal extends up to 105 feet in all directions. A sloping yard or a yard with hills can cause the Pet Area to appear less or more than expected. Consider repositioning the Transmitter to maximize your Pet Area.
Can I use more than one Receiver Collar with the Stay + Play Wireless Fence system?
Yes. There is no limit to the number of pets you can contain with the Stay + Play Wireless Fence system. You must purchase an additional Wireless Pet Fence Receiver Collar for each pet.
Will the Stay + Play Wireless Fence® system keep other pets out of my yard?
No. The Stay + Play Wireless Fence system is only effective on pets who wear the Receiver Collar.
Is there a hand-held remote Transmitter that will work with the Wireless system Receiver Collar?
No. You would need to purchase a separate Remote Training system.
Can I use the Stay + Play Wireless Fence system on an aggressive pet?
This product is not for use with aggressive pets. If you are unsure if your dog is aggressive, please consult your veterinarian or a certified trainer.
Can I use the Stay + Play Wireless Fence system on a cat?
The Stay + Play Wireless Fence system can be used as long as the cat can comfortably wear the Receiver Collar.
What happens if the power goes out?
The Stay + Play Wireless Fence system is designed to recognize power outages and shuts down without activating the Receiver Collar. However, if your pet is near the Boundary Zone during the power failure, he may receive a Static Correction. The Transmitter will sound an intermittent alarm for up to 30 minutes to alert you to the power failure.
If my pet leaves the Pet Area, how long will he be corrected?
Your pet will receive Static Correction for up to 15 seconds as long as he is outside the Pet Area.
How often do I need to charge the Receiver Collar battery?
Each charge can last up to 3 weeks depending upon frequency of use. The Receiver Indicator Light acts as a low battery indicator, flashing red every 4 to 5 seconds when battery charging is required.
Can I place the Receiver on another collar?
Yes. You may use any 3/4 inch, non-metallic collar strap that will thread through the Receiver.
Do I need to perform maintenance on my Stay + Play Wireless Fence® system?
- Check your pet’s neck daily for irritation from the Contact Points.
- Check the Contact Points on the Receiver Collar weekly to make sure they are clean.
- Use the Contact Point Wrench to make sure the Contact Points are secure. Do not over tighten.
- Check the fit of the Receiver Collar weekly.
- The Receiver Indicator Light acts as a Battery Status Indicator, flashing red every 4 to 5 seconds when battery charging is required.
How do I know the battery in the Receiver Collar is still working?
Check Battery Status Indicator Lights.
Will vehicles, buildings and landscape features (trees, shrubs, etc.) affect the performance of the Stay + Play Wireless Fence system?
- Yes. Placing the Transmitter inside a metal building can reduce the maximum range of the Stay + Play Wireless Fence transmitter.
- Parking a vehicle within the Pet Area, can reduce the range of the system and cause your pet to receive a Static Correction where it otherwise would not if the vehicle was not there.
- Fixed large metal objects such as metal sheds can affect the signal by reducing the maximum range of the system at the location of the object. As a result, your pet may receive a Static Correction.
What do I do if my pet’s neck becomes red and irritated?
This condition is due to the Contact Points irritating the skin. Discontinue use of the Receiver Collar for a few days. If the condition persists beyond 48 hours, see your veterinarian. Once the skin returns to normal, replace the Receiver Collar and monitor the skin condition closely.
Can I attach a leash to the Receiver Collar?
No. This can result in pulling the Contact Points too tightly against your pet’s neck or the collar may break. Attach a leash to a separate, non-metallic collar positioned above the Receiver Collar.
Why does my Receiver Collar have a tone only mode?
The tone only mode can be used in training your pet to his boundary or for well-trained pets that no longer require Static Correction.
1-Year Limited Warranty.

So far, so good in a tough situation
By Randell on Nov 8, 2020
I have it inside a metal trailer due to my home burning down last year. It works pretty good considering it's inside what amounts to a Faraday cage. I felt terrible leaving my girl locked up in this trailer all day while I work, and now I can leave her outside on good weather days. She can't run all 10 acres like before, but she has room to move. She already respects the flags in just a few days. Does not do as well as the hard wired version I had before, but does good when hard wire is not the right solution. If there was a weather resistant perch for outdoor mounting, it would probably do very well. (hint, hint, hint) A plexiglass enclosure/mount or similar that would not inhibit signal I have it inside a metal trailer due to my home burning down last year. Tiny yards only
By Montemom on Sep 30, 2020
Our 1200 sqft house 2 story house sit on 3/4 of an acre. With this transmitter in the center of the house our dog can’t leave the porch front or back. Read the description well! It’s 50 Ft from the transmitter on all sides. 3/4 of an acre they are counting the dome, that presumable, u less your dog can fly or you have a yard that’s elevated on a 2nd story?! You’ll never use 1/2 of it’s reachable space. The advertising on this unit is misleading and frankly a pain in the butt. How many other now have to return this item. Save us some time and be honest about the max reach of this device. 210 diameter, that’s all the way around the circle btw, on flat ground or around 50ft from the transmitter. very helpful LGD training aid!
By MacKenzieTilleraas on Jul 25, 2020
works very well for training our great pyrenees livestock guardian dogs where their boundaries are. they have learned very quickly (within the first 10 minutes of it being set up) that when the collar starts beeping, it means that is not their area. not even a week after use, they knew where they were allowed to go and not allowed to go just by landmarks, not beeping. before, they were dogs who thought they owned the place, could run around and roam wherever they wanted to, but now they know that is not the case.

Wireless Fence
By Great on Jul 28, 2020
We received the Pet safe wireless fence yesterday and love it. Once we charged the collar, we set up the fence in 30 minutes. Put our puppy on a leash and walked her around her new boundary. Needed to turn it up to a 4. She's a smart, high energy, mini Berndoodle, with a stubborn personality 4 months old, 15 pounds currently. Shocked 3 or 4 times and shes off the leash! Peace of mind for us now when we are outside on the back porch. No longer trying to get her to return to us and her running away. The wireless fence works great!

Trees block
By MountainDog on Aug 23, 2020
I really wanted this to work for our situation, in a neighborhood where no fences are allowed. Unfortunately the signal is blocked by tree branches and shrubs. This creates an area of 20' x 40' for our dogs, when we have almost .20 acres for them to run on. I will be returning this item.

Effective Wireless Fence
By MJOC on Jun 30, 2020
I'm very pleased with the ease of setting up the fence and it's effectiveness especially since I'm using it in a heavily wooded area. My two labs are accustomed to an electric fence and so no training was required. The additional collar was a bit expensive but worth the peace of mind. The true test occurred when the UPS driver, who always has treats, pulled into the driveway and the dogs stopped on a dime as soon as they heard the tone. They were disappointed to not receive a treat but I was elated.

Defective...but great customer service from CHEWY!
By Jeannie on Apr 22, 2020
I was so excited to get this....for about a day. It did not set up correctly, our flags looked like a drunk tried to make a circle. The main unit was loud, very annoying. Then it began to smell like it was burning. Chewy credited me and emailed a return label right away. Definitely returned but due to excellent customer service I did purchase another training item.

Love this fence
By Treesha05 on May 16, 2020
Our old underground system stopped working and I saw this and liked that it was mobile. It works just like our old system but better because we can take it with us camping vacations, etc.. I am very happy and most importantly so is my dog.

PetSafe Wireless Fence
By Dray on Sep 24, 2019
Collar is working great since we received it. Love that the charge holds for about 3 weeks. Only down side is 105 ft really isn't that far would be nice if it were at least 125ft, and it is rather expensive.
