What’s the difference in the free to roam and the stay n play by pet safe ?

The difference between the systems is the PetSafe Stay + Play Wireless Fence has more area in diameter to roam.

I want to use this to primarily to keep my dog on the deck and would only use it when weather is nice and he is left outside. Can the transmitter be disconnected and reconnected to an outside power source easily? Does it require a setup process each time it is connected?

The transmitter can be easily plugged and unplugged.

Can this be used with cats as well? if not, are there any products like this that CAN be used with cats?

This product can be used as long as the cat can comfortably wear the receiver collar and weighs more than 5 pounds.

do the flags have to be in the ground or can they be tied to something we need to cover a straight line of about 15 feet

Keeping the boundary flags in the ground, or tied somewhere that is eye level to your pet initially helps show your pet their boundaries.

Glitchy and unreliable

I was a little skeptical of this but wanted to give it a try to have an easier set up than the wired system. However, the downsides of this system exceed any convenience

I was a little skeptical of this but wanted to give it a try to have an easier set up than the wired system. However, the downsides of this system exceed any convenience benefit. It doesn’t really work for the layout of our house/yard as it either doesn’t give much backyard space, and if it were to be increased he could go too close to the road out front. Also, while training our dog on the boundaries it didn’t work with any consistency - it was 50/50 if it would provide any of the corrective warnings which did or make me feel like he would be safe. Finally, the collar would sometimes go off when it shouldn’t. The final straw was this morn in g the collar was on a table in our kitchen and it just started going off out of no where.

The collar was defective. It malfunctioned and my puppy was attacked. He has two lacerations, a broken sternum, and an injured leg. His current vet bills are $1

Does not have the range it says it has

It says that it will go 100 feet three quarters of an acre. I cannot even get it to go half of that adjusted and everything else I just can not get it to do.

Not thoroughly satisfied

I will say, it was a long ridiculous process just trying to order/receive the product. I’m not satisfied with Chewy at all. As far as the wireless fence, I’m not

I will say, it was a long ridiculous process just trying to order/receive the product. I’m not satisfied with Chewy at all. As far as the wireless fence, I’m not overly impressed. It seems my dogs will just walk right through the boundaries with the highest setting on the collars, no problem. I’m giving it a bit longer to see if anything improves, otherwise I will be returning it all.
