Does this leash prevent the dog from slipping backwards out of the harness?

This leash is designed to attach to the front and back of your dog's harness to help redirect them. It is not intended to prevent dogs from slipping out of their harnesses.

Is each lead only 4' long when attached to front and back (top) of the harness?

This leash is 4 feet long no matter how it is used. You can attach it to the top and front of a harness and it will still be 4 feet long, just essentially folded in half in order to provide increased direction for your dog.

Can the handle be removed?

Great when you can only use one hand

I broke one of my wrists 3 days after I brought Lilith home, so finding the right combination of harness and leash has been a struggle. This leash has actually been a game changer for us! Because I've only been able to use one hand for the last 7 weeks, I ended up combining this with a "no-pull" harness and a hands-free leash. The two connection points of this leash help with directional control, while the hands free leash adds physical stability against pulling when she gets excited or scared (she has a very strong flight response -_-). Today was our first day with Just the leash and harness, and she did great! There were moments when she got too wound up, but the leash kept her movements manageable with only one hand.

This leash is great because it hooks in the front and the back of her harness and it is also shorter for more control. I still need to work on my own core, but I feel comfortable walking her knowing she can't just jerk and take me down.

I’m talking about walking to 140 pound dogs so if you’re wondering if it works for large dogs, it absolutely does. It’s a winner.
