Major Fixer Upper

Was looking for a nice outdoor house for feral cats, but this was a let down. First the smell was extremely strong, and if it is bothering the humans, you know it will bother the animals. Definitely assembly outside. Second, assembly is not easy. The pre-drilled holes are hit or miss. Sometimes they are there, but mainly they are missing. You will need a drill to assemble this. Also the locking hinge and lifting arm for the roof were an issue to the point I just left them off and plan to add a different securing device later. I also plan to add some reinforcement to the drop in floor. Third, it says it is insulated but that is questionable. Other houses have an insulating insert you add but this one does not. I suspect the walls are the insulating foam covered in a veneer, but it just didn’t feel like it was insulated much so I added additional foam panels for insulation and to cover the gaps. Finally, I will use this under a covered porch so it is protected from the elements. I don’t think this would last very long exposed to Mother Nature. So expect to put in a bit of work and add some extra materials if you select this house or consider other options. So far no one has moved in.

Cat/Rabbit Shelter

I bought this primarily for a rabbit in my neighborhood. I don't know if it's someone's pet that they let run loose or if someone dumped it out here in the country

I bought this primarily for a rabbit in my neighborhood. I don't know if it's someone's pet that they let run loose or if someone dumped it out here in the country. Wouldn't be the first pet dumped but it would be the first rabbit. Anyway, the bunny hasn't used it yet but I love that it has an escape hatch. However, I used part of the lock assembly on the inside so the door can only open from the inside and nothing can get in that door from the outside. That way, if something gets in the front door, the animal can still get out but it can't be attacked from both sides. The shelter has already been through a couple of rain storms and stayed dry. It was a bit of a pain to get together and does require two people for some steps but the quality seems good for the price. If the rabbit doesn't use it, hopefully the neighborhood cats will so they can keep warm in the winter

The whole thing is very poor quality. The pieces don’t go together well. The hinge for the top was made for the wrong side. It leaks all over. Not warm at all. It

My 3 strays don’t like it. The material is very flimsy and rough and splintery. I wish I could say something good about it but I honestly can’t find anything good to say. I can’t understand how there could be so many good reviews.

So be wary - only 4 holes were predrilled on the entire house. Screws are very small in some cases - I didn't have a drill bit that small and had to start it with

Love Shelter

My sister and I love animals. Shortly after her last cat passed 2 strays kept coming to her home for food. She kept them feed and worried that winter in Wisconsin

My sister and I love animals. Shortly after her last cat passed 2 strays kept coming to her home for food. She kept them feed and worried that winter in Wisconsin might be too much for these babies. Between my sister and her neighbor a plan to get them into her home by their choice was hatched. So I wanted to help. I purchased the cat house to help make them warm and more receptive to a real home. As of today one has come into her home to live. We’re holding out for the second to do the same. Even if the second does we love there is a warm house for critters in need. Highly recommend

Poor and damaged sections.

After assembling I put it outside for one night. The roof material already started to bubble. Wouldn't recommend this item.
