Easy assembly, not great for outdoors
By gidget on Jan 28, 2021
I found this house VERY easy to put together, but not very good for outdoors. We get high winds and I definitely have to bring this house indoors when it's windy, or it would blow away. Also, because it sits right on the ground, I have had to make adjustments to where and how it's used. For example, I set it on top of a wooden platform to keep it off the cold concrete, so it stays warmer inside on dry nights that are cold, and out of the water for rain or watering system runoff. I also have to bring this house indoors on the day the gardeners come by, because their blowers also blow this house around, and they blow dead leaves into the house itself. Because we care for other cats, too
By champaggin on Feb 2, 2021 Top 500 Contributor
My cats are not indoor/outdoor, but there are a few in the neighborhood and I was able to score this at a reasonable price. We weren't sure the ginger who floats around our property was even using this, except his hair has been found inside. No tracks, no issues with our cats knowing he's there. He has taken to walking under the deck, up the other side, and then into his shelter without being spotted. While it's not heated, you can still insulate it, and it's easy to set up or break down as well as keep clean. I might let my cats have a playhouse out of it during better weather INDOORS.

Chilly Nights?
By 2Huts on Jan 4, 2021
I have a couple of feral (really not so feral anymore) cats that I've been caring for a couple of years. Even though we're in Southern California the nights can get very chilly. I had been using a couple of 18 gallon totes with the lids on and a cut out access on the side and front incase they needed to escape. I didn't feel it was warm enough in there even with the bundled towels I gave them. This little house is great! I placed it in our front porch area added the towels they had been using in the totes and watched. They immediately both checked it out. Before I knew it they were both snuggled up in there :) I reached in to see if they were warm enough. It absolutely was. I ended up purchasing another one in the single version for the kitty that comes and visits us in the fenced side yard. That one is taking a little longer to use regularly but I have seen it inside sleeping :) I would definitely recommend. BTW people who have seen it on my porch (the mailperson) chuckled and thought it was very cute. … more

This is a sturdy little spot for outside animals
By shelter on Jan 22, 2021
It arrives flat packed and is super easy to assemble. The velcro is ample and makes a very secure connection if you're careful to align each piece to the next. The plastic flaps also arrive with velcro on them ready to put into place. This couldn't be much easier, it's sturdy, will block the wind and looks great in my little natural area, it blends right in = WIN!

FABULOUS!!!
By MotherWillis on Feb 10, 2021
This is the greatest little house for outdoor kitties whether its heated or not. I purchased the unheated one because I already had a K&H pet pad. My outdoor kitty is still a little leery but I'm sure he'll eventually get used to it -- especially when we have another cold snap.

Best house ever! Need bigger ones!
By AngRitter on Jan 5, 2021
This is the very best “bed” I have bought for my partially feral cats. I just wish all 4 could cram into one house. I may have to buy a few more to place around my property. I have two cats that cuddle inside, and their feral mama sleeps on top of it! It’s EXTREMELY sturdy & well built. All seams are sealed with strong Velcro & it basically folds into shape & you secure the roof. (I do not recommend taking the roof off while there are cats inside. They just don’t understand. LOL!)

Cadie Bell’s New Home
By CatLady on Jan 15, 2021
Cadie Bell is our sweet little rescue kitty that loves living in our garage. She’s a large kitty weighing around 18 pounds or more. She loves her new home...we also added an outdoor heating pad to. It’s very roomy and could probably hold to small kitties. We liked it so much we purchased another one. They’re very sturdy and good quality.

Trouble is a Happy Cat
By doubletrouble on Dec 27, 2020
Trouble is a cat who decided follow me home every single day when I walked the dog at the park. I've never had a cat. I'm so happy with the Extra-Wide Outdoor Kitty House and after a day Trouble has made it her own. She's gotten bigger but there's plenty of room for her and having 2 doors is a great idea. She didn't like the plastic door flaps so I took them off off and she seems to love it. Also it's a water repellent fabric so it should keep her warm and dry this winter. It's put together with a very strong velcro.

Community Cats love it!
By houleboule on Dec 4, 2020
I bought this little house to sit on my covered front porch for some of the Community Cats (aka feral colony cats) who hang out at my house. Most of my kitty guests don't hang around after eating, but so far 2 of them have been sharing this hut overnight and they absolutely love it. I added a K&H self-heating bed in inside it to keep them extra toasty this winter. I did remove one of the door flaps so they wouldn't be afraid to enter it, I haven't tried putting the flap on yet to see if they'll still use it, but so far they're enjoying it without the flap.

Cute little house
By Kittenhouse on Dec 13, 2020
The house was so cute and easy to put together. It hasn't made it to the outside feral cats yet. I have 9 inside cats from 8 months to 3 years old. They like to get inside and on top of the house. The house is pretty sturdy because my 17 lbs. Cat likes to lay on the roof and it doesn't even sink in. It is smaller than I expected so if I get another one for the outside cats, it will have to be bigger. These are cats, not kittens.
