We were looking forward to trying this treat dispenser with our two-year-old cat, since she’d never used one before. While the toy mostly worked as expected, there were a few drawbacks for us: The top slit where you insert the treats is fairly wide, which caused some of the treats to fall out unintentionally—not just from the front opening where they’re meant to be dispensed. The suction cup base is more of a sticky pad than a traditional suction cup. It didn’t hold very well on our floors and felt like it could lose its grip over time, especially if you need to reposition it often. The feather tail was actually the part our cat found most entertaining, but unfortunately it started shedding pieces quickly once she began chewing on it. That raised some concerns about how durable the product would be long-term and if the feather would be a safety issue. Overall, it’s not a bad idea for a toy, but the design could use some improvements. We probably won’t keep using it long-term.

Honest review of Playology Bird Treat dispenser

This Playology toy was something I’ve considered in the past, yet was hesitant to pickup due to price. Finally got one, and found it to be a very well made product

This Playology toy was something I’ve considered in the past, yet was hesitant to pickup due to price. Finally got one, and found it to be a very well made product of a thicker, almost squishy soft plastic that holds its’ form well. The toy is designed to load treats in the back of “the bird”; and dispense out the front, from a hole under the birds “head”. I have five cats, in age range from eight-months to fourteen years old. The two cats/kittens under three years found the toy engaging as long as it dispensed treats, and loved the feather tail; the six-year old tried it, decided it was too much effort for a few treats, and the fourteen year old decided to let the kittens use it, wasn’t interested at all. Overall a GREAT toy for engaging the littles, and they got a few hours of play out it, which made the toy worth it. It is durable, and I expect it will endure for a few years as they beat it up to get the treats. My only concern with this item is the way it attaches to a surface. Although it appears to have a suction-cup, the suction-cup shape base has an almost glue-like ring to hold it to a surface. After some consideration, we placed ours on the side of our kitchen island cabinets, because they are a sleek, almost laminated surface, and I hope when this is removed I will be able to get the “glue” like ring off the laminate. I wouldn’t attach this to a painted wall, or soft surface, out of concern it would peel paint off, or damage drywall. Overall, a Good product; well made and appears durable! As well, it did exactly what it was described and desitto do; so a WIN as far as cat toys go!

In theory a good idea, but ultimately not for us

In theory this product is cute and could work, but ultimately my cats got bored with it quickly and moved on. The sticky suction bottom keeps coming up after them

In theory this product is cute and could work, but ultimately my cats got bored with it quickly and moved on. The sticky suction bottom keeps coming up after them batting at it. The hole where the treats come out in front is a little small, and the one on the back is too large. Ultimately, my cats gave up trying to get their treats out of the front, and just pulled them out of the bigger cut on the top when the bird fell over from the sticky bottom not working.

Bird with a secret

We have 3 cats and this might be one of their favorite toys so far. They also love that can dispense treats so it’s good for mental stimulation as well.

Zero challenge to get treats

The back opening is too big! Instead of one or two treats coming out of the front hole, a ton of treats fly out the back opening. Definitely not for an eager slapper!
