I thought I was making a real cake! It didn't smell like a dog product at all and my 2 dogs loved it!!!! I added a little water and peanut butter to make the frosting creamier to spread around the cake. There was plenty left over as well!

My Alpha loved this cake. He acted like it was the best thing he had ever tasted and he hardly ever gets excited about food. It was very easy to make and came out perfect. I followed the instructions exactly on the cake and I added about 1/2 TBSP more water to the icing. It’s says it makes one 6 in cake but I used a 4in round pan and was able to make two full cakes. There was enough icing to cover the tops of both cakes.
Loved this cake!

DOG RAN AWAY FROM IT

I was excited to bake my first birthday cake for his 2nd birthday. I followed the instructions on the box. Baked this cake knowing he would love it, Unfortunately, he would not touch it. He first started and at it came a little closer, smelled it, and backed away. I left it out for him for a day, and he didn't even want to get close to the cake. I have an English Mastiff and he likes to eat pretty much anything I put in front of him. In this case, he didn't. I was disappointed, so I tried to give him the cake again on day 2, no dice. Day 3, he still didn't want to get close to it. At first, I thought it was because of the peanut butter flavor, but realized later that he had peanut butterI was excited to bake my first birthday cake for his 2nd birthday. This was a waste of money… more
So easy to make.

I bought this box cake mix out of curiosity and it turned out it was so easy to make. I read the reviews about the frosting coming up short so I added to it to make it stretch further: I made two layers, between the layers was PB mixed with a bit of yogurt so I added the leftover and more yogurt for the exterior of the cake. Toys breeze.
My dog loved it!
Wonky turned 14

My little dog had her 14th birthday. My granddaughters had made a pooch cake for their dog that had turned 16, and they inspired my decision!
Great but not as pictured

Our pup loved the cake so no complaints there, but the frosting definitely doesn’t look like the picture on the box. There’s also very little frosting so you couldn’t really cover the cake like that. Because the frosting wasn’t as pictured, I chose to add water (per the instructions) and make it a little more liquid-y do it would run down the sides of the cake and pool on the plate. Overall I would still definitely purchase again, but if you’re looking to frost the cake more for pictures then you’re probably better off making home made frosting with this mix.
Great Birthday gift
