Yes! When your dog chews on Pork Chomps, the chewing action scrapes away plaque, controls tartar buildup and helps stimulate gums. This diminishes bad breath, keeps teeth whiter and reduces the risk of potentially serious dental problems.
Made of baked pork skin, Pork Chomps are easy to digest. Dogs who chew Pork Chomps have a much lower risk of developing gastrointestinal problems than dogs who chew rawhide. Pork chomps also contain none of the harsh chemicals found in many rawhide chews.
We developed Pork Chomps after our extensive veterinary study affirmed pork skin to be a safe alternative to rawhide. When we looked at China we found answers that made sense for our product. China processes their pork skin in a unique way that specifically fits the Pork Chomps patented process. China continues to make high standards of quality a priority. Pork Chomps have been in the market since 2006. To ensure the highest quality standards Pork Chomps are manufactured in a state-of the-art facility built in 2013 that has been certified by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). GFSI is an international organization formed in 2000 to establish consistent regulations for human food production.
We suggest hand washing before and after all of our dog treat products. There isn't anything harmful on or in our products this is just a good hygienic practice. It is important to follow good kitchen hygiene practices when handling pet food, treats and chews, just as you would when you handle human food. Doing this helps keep pet foods, treats and chews from being contaminated with bacteria and other microorganisms from you, such as Salmonella, that can cause disease for your pet. Washing hands after also helps to prevent anyone becoming ill and possibly spreading the illness to others. It's a recommended good practice and in the best interest of you, your family and your pets.
The University of Illinois, a leading veterinary college, conducted a Digestibility Study of pork skin in 2012. The study provided in vitro results showing pork skin was 99.93% digested at the end of a 24-hour period. Since at the end of 24 hours Pork Chomps are almost fully digested, we feel comfortable recommending one chew per 24 hour period.
Our Australian Shepherd loves it! He will run around the house doing a happy dance with the donut. It takes him a few hours to chew this one down and I rarely see it last more than a day. Perfect treat to keep him busy for a bit. Sure wish they had a peanut butter flavor.
A 12" bully stick will take my dog probably an hour to chew through, for reference. He's had this for 3 30 minute chew sessions so far and is about half way done with it. Would recommend.
My standard poodle loves these - he is a very aggressive chewer and these actually last him a good 12 hours of chewing!
This was a epic fail. I was looking for a new treat for my dogs & happened across these. I bought one for each of my dogs & neither would even take it from me. They were about the size of your hand & they looked promising & they even come individually wrapped. But, I will not purchase them again & was very disappointed that my dogs wouldn’t even consider taking them from me to try.
Everything I have ever ordered from chewy has been great.
We are using these as an alternative until the Baked Pork Chomp Rolls are back in stock. These are a little on the expensive side, but keep our big girl occupied for at least an hour or so. She absolutely loves them, and they are (as far as I can tell) the same thing as the rolls, just in donut form.
My dog loved this. Lasted a long time. Would highly recommend this product for a medium to large breed dog
My 2 year old German Shepherd "loves" this. Best part is that it lasted longer than more treats.
My dog was so excited to get this that he ran around the house for 10 minutes and showed it to the cats. He’s been chewing it now for 20 minutes which is already 10 minutes longer than a bully stick lasts! Plus he is forced to eat it slowly due to the shape, unlike a rawhide tube, so I’m not worried about him eating a massive chunk.
My Bully boy loves these. But why do the prices fluctuate from over $7.00 one order, go back 3 days later and up to $11.00? As for the product, keeps my bully boy happy for a few hours, they are great. They do tend to stick to carpeting, but it makes him happy...so mommy cleans the mess.
